Got their butts kicked by Virginia Tech(themselves recently exposed as overrated) 31-7. That should shut up for a few days the orange blowhard bandwagoning fullofthemselves thugimage rapcrap pullyourpantsup snoopyappiyap loudmouth elements of the Cane fans.
OBTW, nice sore loser cheap shots by the Miami bench late in the game after the interception. Spare me the baloney about how this is the "new" "cleaned up" Miami. They sure looked like the heavily penalized, trash talking, thuggish, gang bums of old, mixing it up after practically every play in the final 4 minutes.
Think I'm piling on? Watch media favorite Miami hardly drop in the polls, despite the complete thrashing. Sorry, but I'm tired of the total scam that is the BCS/poll system propping Miami, FSU, Texas(my team), etc. every year with early high rankings and overhype, so that a loss for them is not nearly as hurtful to their title shots as most teams. Its an incestuous false cycle, and thus the same few teams regularly bob around the top 10 and usually are the only ones with a real shot of playing in that totally bogus mythical national championship game.
C'mon, this year only Oklahoma stands out above the crowd, and by no means is it certain that they will go undefeated. There is absolutely no way that we can pick the 2 best teams in the country with any degree of certainty. No matter what the BCS does, it is a sham and a total joke.

I flew out from Phoenix to Miami a few years back to see Arizona State beat Miami, the fans there were jerks, almost as much a bunch of A%#$oles as Nebraska fans.

Don't forget the Florida State Criminoles. Those free shoes and stolen merchandise should be included in income calculations...How did I forget about those Bowden boys from Tallahassee? On a per cap basis, they have to be right up there in the top five paid teams.
I have always wondered how the state capital wound up in that sinkhole of a city in the middle of nowhere?

MIAMI AS THE ASSOCIATED PRESS NO. 1The Hurricanes have played in 44 games all-time while holding the AP's No. 1 ranking and have forged a 39-5 record in those contests. Miami has won 15 straight as the nation's top-ranked team. Prior to the Alabama loss (34-13) in the 1993 Sugar Bowl, UM had won 12 straight games when it held the top spot in the polls dating back to the 1991 season. o In the regular season, UM has been ranked No. 1 by the AP in 40 games and has recorded a 37-3 mark. UM last lost a regular season game while holding the No. 1 ranking in the 1990 season opener at BYU, 28-21 on Sept. 8.
MIAMI'S RECORD ACCORDING TO AP RANK
UM is 206-40-2 all-time in games while holding an AP national ranking. Since 1983, Miami is 141-20 as a top 10 team and 113-12 as a top five team. The Hurricanes are 39-5 as the nation's No.1-ranked team. Miami has won 29 of its last 30 while ranked No. 1.

Texas took care of those Nebraska fans today...

Let's post some facts about this "overrated" team...shall we?
You can add a few more wins to all those numbers, they were put together before the end of last season.
How did last season end?
Be right back.

Number six up coming, damn had to take a valium.
UK just had to kick a extra point to win, went for two.

I considered making a thread, but I've been waiting for putupon to start one. He's usually so interested in Tech.

The BCS is fine. That's right... I said the BCS is fine & we don't need a playoff.
The reason college football is so great is that the regular season is HUGE (unlike college basketball, which DOES have a tournament).
The BCS could use some improvement (notably removing the "Losses" component and beefing up the strength-of-schedule component). But I like it, and it can work fine.
That said, I'm THRILLED Miami lost. Brock Berlin is no Ken Dorsey. But Ken Dorsey was no Gino Torretta. heh heh.

Can't go for 1 after OT2, must go for 2 point conversion by rule.

Sorry, but the Big East isn't the SEC, Big 12, or Pac10. At least Miami usually plays one of the better nonconference schedules, but they could field an all girl team and the preseason polls would rank them in the top 5, with at least one mag(probably Dr. Z) putting them on the cover as their preseason #1.
The main problem is this Bull Crap System and polls instead of a playoff, but Miami has benefited from this subjective beauty contest. And if they had a history of showing some class instead of the thug image, people might give them a break.
One of the best moments in sports was watching Joe Pa take to school Jimmy Johnson and the trash-talking fatigue wearing frauds down in Arizona many moons ago.

Best game I ever went to was Arizona State vs Nebraska, we beat the corncobs 19-0. It was a brilliant day.

63-55...GO CATS!! It's not over yet.
To: razorback-bert
Nope, after this many overtimes, the rules don't allow them to kick, they must go for two.
Razorbacks down to the two...

You have a real football team up there.

It ended in a double overtime slugfest with the Buckeyes that has been described as one of the greatest college football games of all time.
When was the last time that sport writers spoke about "one of the "greatest college football games of all times"?
November 25, 1989.
Look it up.
