Perennially overrated Miami Hurricanes exposed as frauds tonight(as expected)
espn and various security cameras | 11/01/03 | Luther Campbell, poor mistreated Sapp, and the Florida Dept of Corrections

Posted on 11/01/2003 8:24:37 PM PST by Diddle E. Squat

Got their butts kicked by Virginia Tech(themselves recently exposed as overrated) 31-7. That should shut up for a few days the orange blowhard bandwagoning fullofthemselves thugimage rapcrap pullyourpantsup snoopyappiyap loudmouth elements of the Cane fans.

OBTW, nice sore loser cheap shots by the Miami bench late in the game after the interception. Spare me the baloney about how this is the "new" "cleaned up" Miami. They sure looked like the heavily penalized, trash talking, thuggish, gang bums of old, mixing it up after practically every play in the final 4 minutes.

Think I'm piling on? Watch media favorite Miami hardly drop in the polls, despite the complete thrashing. Sorry, but I'm tired of the total scam that is the BCS/poll system propping Miami, FSU, Texas(my team), etc. every year with early high rankings and overhype, so that a loss for them is not nearly as hurtful to their title shots as most teams. Its an incestuous false cycle, and thus the same few teams regularly bob around the top 10 and usually are the only ones with a real shot of playing in that totally bogus mythical national championship game.

C'mon, this year only Oklahoma stands out above the crowd, and by no means is it certain that they will go undefeated. There is absolutely no way that we can pick the 2 best teams in the country with any degree of certainty. No matter what the BCS does, it is a sham and a total joke.

If you want to see something truly bizarre, check out the SEC East. If Tennessee, Florida, and Georgia all win out in their SEC games, which is very possible, they will be in a three-way tie for the division championship. Now here's the kicker, since they can't use head-to-head since each has a loss against another co-leader, the division champ will be determined by:

A vote of SEC athletic directors not from those schools or the West champ. LOL! Do you think Phil Fulmer is thinking twice about constantly running up the score on Vandy all these years? How many SEC schools did Spurrier embarrass over the years, and do you think for a moment that they've forgotten? Who's dying to piss on Uga? This is going to be hillarious.

He may be in a padded cell right now...

I'm O.K., no padded cell required, just medication.

Congrats to the team from B'burg.

I'm really torn here.

I have hated Miami for 20 years. I mean I have hated them with an intense passion. I have hated them with a maniacal and almost psychotic hatred.

But, Brock Berlin's dad is a friend of mine and I have met and spoken with Brock. They are the two best people anyone would ever want to meet. Brock's dad flies to every game to see his son play.

I can honestly say I have never met a more kind, decent man in my life. I simply cannot root against them while Brock is there.

One of the best moments in sports was watching Joe Pa take to school Jimmy Johnson and the trash-talking fatigue wearing frauds down in Arizona many moons ago.

Penn State's game plan for that game was brilliant: Let the receiver make the catch, then hit him as hard as you can. By the third quarter, the Miami receivers were looking everywhere except at the ball when trying to make a catch. They dropped balls left and right, and made Vinnie T. look very ordinary.

Excellent game plan, JoPa.

Big riot downtown. Well, for Blacksburg it was. Tore down a lamppost.

Robert Duvall was at the game.

[I]t is a sham and a total joke.

Sort of like big-time college sports in general, where the words "student" and "athelete" really don't belong in the same sentence.

Bring back Osborne! :)

Be careful now. You are beginning to sound like those pathetic Bama fans I know who won't be satisfied until they go out to the graveyard and dig up Bear Bryant, take him to the local taxidermist and have him stuffed so he can be wheeled out on the sidelines and stuck up there during games. After all, it was always said that ole Bear could walk on water; maybe he can coach while being dead also.

There's no way Texas should have been blown out this year by Oklahoma with the talent they have.

Agreed. Mack Brown reminds me of our former coach at Georgia, Jim Donnan. Great recruiter, but not much of a coach, and hires assistants on recruiting ability instead of coaching ability.

It is my perception that Texas does not have very physical practices at all during the week. They are SOFT.

USC is fantastic and OU would have rather played Miami if we get that far

I love the smell of napalm in a hurricane. Smells like victory.

If the ADs are smart, they should strictly go by which of the three teams is the highest ranked in the BCS, in order to avoid that kind of controvery. That means for UF to have a shot we have to beat FSU in order to pass Georgia. We would then have three quality wins (LSU, UGA and FSU) while UGA and UT would have none (assuming UT loses to Miami). The problem is UF has to root for UGA to win out in order to avoid a two-way tie with UT (who only needs to beat Vandy and UK). As far as I'm concerned, beating FSU is good enough, the rest is gravy, considering at one point I thought the Gators were headed for a 4-8 season.

Maybe so, but to me he is still a traitor to the Gator nation.

How's it going dfw. Congrats on your win in our little get together once again. After yesterday I'll not even contemplate another win in Jax by my beloved Canines in my lifetime. If it happens, well good, but if I don't go into this mode I think it'll be time for the meds for me. At least I'm old enough to remember the Dooley years. Take care.

In a perfect world, yes, well in a perfect world we'd have something better than the BCS.

In reality, however, I wouldn't be surprised if rivalries with either of those three teams come into play. It'll be like an episode of Survivor.

ESPN could televise and have the coaches/staff from the three schools in the studio, and setup some kind process where they interview each of the other ADs as they vote and why they voted the way they did.

You guys ruined many a Gator season in the past (can you say "Lindsay Scott?"), I guess it's just our turn now.
