WooHooo! Incredible light show here in the Finger Lakes for the last 45 minutes. Clear skies, what are the chances? Diffused pink light to the northwest, columns of green from due north and a kind of deep turquoise in between. Big pink burst in the East over Seneca Lake. The dividing line between dark starry sky and what looks like a heavenly pink flashlight beam is arced right over my house. From the east to southeast we're getting shifting red beams and at one point it was a faint red, white and blue like they sometimes shine on the top of the Empire State Building. Incredible!

Beautiful here in Michigan; a huge curtain of light shifting colors...lots of red and green.

My young girls have never seen it, so this is a real treat for all of us. Well, probably more for me..they got cold and are now inside watching SpongeBob, now.

Incredible sight! I'll be up late tonight.

Double WooHoo from coastal Maine!
Lived here for three years and haven't seen a thing.
Can't tell you how infuriating to read about the light shows in Houston.
Freakin' HOUSTON!
They got Northern lights and I don't !!!
(It was cloudy and rainy here the latst couple of nights.)

But it's clear tonight and quite a show!

We've only noticed a very faint pinkish tint to the dark night sky. No flashes of color or light here in the middle of KS...maybe later:^)

Dang it! I missed it but the neighbors saw red and purple colored streaks that lasted for a brief time. Thanks for the links .... a newspaper reporter here has seen them early in the mornings this week so he says....look up!

Spectacular about 6:30 this evening in south central Maine! A brilliant reddish band about a hand wide from the eastern horizon to directly above. Green mixed in.

My son said that he looked at the display from across a lake and the entire surface of the lake was lit up.

Seems to have vanished now.

Noticed some degradation in radio reception (FM) today.

The northern horizon was a beautiful green last night just north of Pocatello, ID. We've had a steady, light snow since around 11 AM today. The sky is still overcast with little flurries. The lawn and garden areas have about 1/2 inch of snow accumulated.
