Moderators Needed for Bush-Cheney 2004 Yahoo Discussion Groups

There is a need for moderators for Bush-2004 Yahoo Groups that are being established for each state. While there is a need in most states, there is a particular need to recruit moderators for the Arkansas, Minnesota, and Wisconsin groups.

Moderating a Yahoo Group is fairly simple. You might want to take a look at the Californians for Bush Yahoo Group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ca4bush2004/ . I moderate that Group, and so far I would say that moderator duties are light. At this point the duties are to promote one's particular Group (recruit new members), post articles of interest to the group that support President Bush's policies, and be on the watch for disruptors. As state groups develop, and as the campaign progresses, the groups will be used to recruit volunteers for participation in campaign activities.

If you’re interested in moderating the Group for your state, first go to http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1004212/posts and click your state from the list on the thread, then join the group.

Well, we have 14 moderators on the "moderators' group" on Yahoo, so it's close to that number. Are you doing the Texas group? If so, are you part of the moderators' group?

An afterthought ... just recently will1776 had posted an article here on FR announcing the opening of the Texas Yahoo! group. Someone hassled him for posting a 'Vanity' and so forth. I wasn't sure how many were up but my comment was that there would likely be another FORTY such vanities while these things were built. Guess he'll be busy with the abuse button, huh, lol ! Some people ...

That's one of my biggest pet peeves about FR -- the "Vanity Post Nazis" whose only contribution to FR is to complain about what they perceive to be vanity posts. If these people would spend their obvious talents on something positive, like supporting the effort to get online grassroots groups going in their states, we'd be more than half-way to our goal...

PhiKapMom is the overall coordinator of the recruitment of members and moderators for the various state groups. I'm sure you've seen the terrific US map with links to the groups in all 50 states. Right now we're trying to recruit moderators for key states, and I've combined three or four states at a time with each appeal in order to cut down on the clutter of threads.
