This speaks to the incredible weakness of the demo candidates.

That poll IMHO does not add up, I don't think there would be that many DEAN defectors at this point.

Isnt Dean only polling 20% or so nation-wide?
I think its only in NH that he has a big lead on anyone.

I wish she would run so we could dispose of her this round instead of the next.

Agreed. I don't see how Dean could be raising much more money than the others, tied for the lead in Iowa, far ahead in New Hampshire, and yet only poll 7% percent here.
I believe this is wishful thinking on the part of some Democratic operatives.

She's the only person capable of obtaining broad support in the Democratic party. All she needs to do is sit back while the other kooks beat each other's brains out, then come in to save the day by acclaimation.

It's been widely reported that Dem strategists (now there's a term I have a hard time typing) are terrified of Dean's lead, so I would certainly buy the claim that this is perhaps a push for Hillary to run.

A Push! Yes,I will agree with that.
But what then?
No way can she beat Bush right now as it stands. A Political Bombshell would have to hit this administration for her to win at this point.

And, Hillary would be Queen

Let's see what the Iraq situation and the economy look like in 6-7 months. The economy is looking up, as judged by the
Krugman Cat Index, but the Iraq situation is hurting Bush. If the economy upswing falters, I wouldn't be overly confident. I think Bush would win, but I fear it would be close, there are too many blindly irrational Clinton lovers.

Yes, great idea! Whenever we need to reference the "hopefuls" we can just refer to the "sorry lot"!
