President Bush's Message to the Grassroots: "I Need You"
Bush Team Leaders ^ | 10/28/03 | President George W. Bush

Posted on 10/28/2003 1:09:13 PM PST by Marcus Alonzo Hanna

Dear Republican,

Over the last few months, Laura and I have traveled the country and have been humbled by the enthusiastic support we have been given.

Our country has faced many challenges in the last two and half years and we are meeting these challenges at home and abroad. We're defeating the enemies of freedom. And at the same time, we're confronting challenges to build prosperity for our nation and a more compassionate society.

Every test has revealed the true character of America. And no one in the world can doubt the spirit and will and strength of the American people.

We are meeting the challenges of our time but there is much more to be done and I need your support. Will you join me in these efforts by volunteering for my re-election campaign as a Bush Team Leader?

As a Bush Team Leader you will be asked to help by volunteering at local events, hosting your own events, registering new voters, turning out voters on Election Day and more. Most importantly, you will be asked to recruit more Bush Team Leaders to help us win in November 2004. Please sign up to be a part of this important effort today.

The challenges we face cannot be met with timid actions or bitter words. They will be overcome with optimism and resolve and confidence in the ideals of America.

We are acting to advance human freedom and liberty and making the world and America more secure. We took action to create jobs and get the economy growing again.

We acted on principle. You did not send me to this office to mark time. You sent me here to restore dignity and honor to the White House and to help build a safe and prosperous and caring nation. Will you join me in this effort by becoming a Bush Team Leader and volunteer your time?

http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/

I want to thank you for the work that you will do in the months to come. There is no question in my mind that with your help we are laying the foundation to win a great victory in November of 2004.

Sincerely,

George W. Bush

P.S. Again, thank you for making my campaign strong at the grassroots level all across the country. I am grateful to the over 300,000 Americans that have contributed to my campaign and the millions more who've signed up on the campaign email list. And I am grateful to everyone that chooses to volunteer in support of this effort. I need you to make certain your friends and family register to vote. I need you to make phone calls, send emails, help organize rallies, put up signs, and get out the vote. I need you to volunteer in my campaign today.

He is a good man but a mediocre President (at best). He is no conservative.

If he signs the AW ban or amnesty, I'll be voting for someone else for president. If he doesn't, I probably vote for him.

If by that you mean to claim that there will be only two candidates running, you are mistaken.

I'll repeat it

If you wanted to win minds you'd explain it instead. Your call.

What percent of the electorate would you estimate to be conservative by your definition of conservative whatever it would be?

Face it, far less damage is done to this country and government grows much slower when power is divided among the two factions of the Republicrats. The Republicans get all three branches of government, and in return we get the largest growth in government since the New Deal. At least when Clinton was in office the rest of the Republicans would fight and there was some gridlock.

Anyway, what is your plan to rein in the Republican leadership? Roll over and beg?

My definition of conservative would be the "center" of FreeRepublic. I would guess that it's about 20% of the electorate.

I just thought it was kind of self-evident. Third party candidates don't win anything. They simply play spoiler in favor of the the other side. That's the way it has always been since the demise of the Whig party, and that is the way it will be into the forseeable future.

The only way I see for another party to arise is if the GOP abandon its pro-life stance. But were that to happen, we would still have a two-party system, though, because one of the two current parties would pass into the dustbin of history.

I'm with you on this, with the addition of anything concerning prescription drugs for seniors, since I'll be one of the ones paying the bills for the next 40-50 years. And the scare tactics ("Vote for me or the (insert_Dem_candidate_name_here) boogeyman will get you!") won't sway me either. It's pretty distressing that Republicans would stoop to using Democrat tactics.

We live in a two-party system.

There is only one party but it has two factions.

Their main point of contention among them is which parts of our lives they want to dominate and micromanage, and how fast to do it.

I'm not a fan of that either.

The only reason I'm even THINKING of voting for him right now is foreign policy and judges.

I understand your concern about 'scare tactics'. I share your distaste for that. But there are times when fear is not misplaced. I happen to think this is one of them.

Yep, I keep telling myself that it's going to take time to turn around 90 years of socialism.

So why does Bush keep encouraging these Marxists by allowing Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy to write a budget-busting education bill, promising my extremely rich grandmother free pills, and opening the borders for socialists from Mexico who want and get free everything.

I'm trying to see the difference between Bush and a Rat, but I can't seem to focus.

There is only one party but it has two factions.

It's just not true. The void between the parties is now wider and deeper than it has ever been.
