An Oxford University professor resigned after being suspended for rejecting a graduate student because he is Israeli. Oxford suspended Andrew Wilkie for telling Amit Duvshani, I am sure you are perfectly nice at a personal level, but no way would I take on somebody who had served in the Israeli army. The penalty the university had imposed suspension without pay is Oxfords severest penalty short of dismissal, the university said in a statement. Wilkie submitted his resignation from Oxfords Pembroke College on Monday, the day the suspension was announced

Andrew Wilkie should have said, "I'm sorry I made that mistake. I will try to behave like a professional scholar from now on."

I wonder if he would agree to teach someone who vocally supports the Palestinian "freedom fighters" and their campaign of suicide/homicide bombings of civilians?

Why do all the heavy left rump rangers wish to destroy Israel? Cui bono? Do they know how God deals with people who harm the Jews? The heavy left is a pack of mindless, nihilistic, Gadarene swine. Their day is over and soon their accounts will be settled.

Nazi doctrine had a pretty wide following in the British upper classes during WW II- you don't hear about it now, because the Nazi's lost the war. Had they won, morons like this would be serving their jackbooted masters in high positions now. (A lot of the rest of the "upper crust" were Communists- interesting, since they would have been shot had there been a Communist takeover of Britain...).

Have no fear he'll find another position, Berkeley...Rutgers...Swathmore...Cornell. to name but a few.
University of Paris also comes to mind.

At first I internally shouted a Marv Albert "YES!!!"...there is still
some sanity in academia.
Then my cynical soul resurfaced...bet this peckerwood might have another appointment
in a different college of Oxford...or already has a gig lined up some place else.
Like Harvard. Or Yale.
Or even better Berkely or UC-Santa Cruz.

You beat me to it...but I missed your post while zipping through the thread.
Guar-an-darn-tee ya' this peckerwood wouldn't leave unless he had some other gig lined up.
