Arnold is the one you want out there -- Doofus' last comments made me want to throw something at my computer -- he was inferring that he asked and it has taken the WH a while to respond!

    re post no. 869:
REDDING.com (AP): "DEATHS MOUNT AS BLAZES RAGE" (October 27, 2003)
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Authorities announced they were seeking two men for investigation of arson and possibly murder in connection with the fire, which ravaged foothill neighborhoods of San Bernardino and threatened mountain homes. One man was seen Saturday morning throwing something into roadside brush that caught fire, then he and a companion fled in a van, officials said."

I agree, I think it would be appropriate for us to see Arnold doing something in a leadership capacity, even if technically he is not yet governor. It's only a matter of days until he is.

Hanging back and letting Gray blame the Bush administration (if that's what's happening -- I haven't had the TV on) isn't a good idea either...

My comments were re: the 2 tankers over the SR76/I-5 (3 acre ?) fire. 1 went home, 1 remains circling.

I appreciate your help. And I'm praying for you guys. I can't imagine the fear you must have to live with!

Of course, he won't get into how he cut the fire budget that kept resources from fighting the fires.

Arnold is the one you want out there Personally, I'll take any decisive man who knows what he's doing. I don't care if his day job is a janitor.

Another relevant article:
"The Sheriff's Department said late Sunday that detectives were seeking two men, both about 20, who were seen in a van on a road north of San Bernardino Saturday morning. A witness saw one occupant throw something into roadside brush that started a fire and the van then made a U-turn and fled, officials said. "

The President has signed the emergency declaration -- resources for his visit would be taking people away from what they are doing right now and then Davis would be on the air complaining. You cannot bring AF One into all of this right now -- people are in the airports that cannot get out because of the fires.

Davis is behing a Clymer about all of this.

"I listened to Dufus for about three minutes and couldn't take anymore. What a jerk! Cannot believe he waited so long to ask for help!"He was just on again and I muted him. Once was enough. He's trying to appear "leaderly". He's probably traveling with Bubba, who's giving him pointers on pretending he feels people's pain.
I can belive he waited so long. If he didn't act like the brain-diseased dictator of a small, Third World country toward the citizens of CA, he wouldn't have been recalled to begin with.

I know they have not been able to clear out the trees, etc., killed by the beetles.Maybe under some jurisdictions, but up in the Arrowhead area, they've been cutting like crazy. The problem was that there was so much to cut. Southern Cal Edison said a few months ago that it would have to cut 350,000 trees just to protect its power lines through the area, and they had crews out selecting the trees. But the cost of removing a tree up there is anywhere from $300 to $3000 each, depending on size and location.

 http://www.fire.ca.gov/ResourceManagement/so_cal_beetle_infest.asp
From the last of the above, the State's Resouce Management and Forestry department website:
"It is the responsibility of the property owner on private property to remove bark beetle infested trees, and due to the extreme fire danger, and the danger of falling trees, officials encourage prompt removal of dead standing trees. Don't wait to receive a notice requiring their removal. Contact a licensed contractor for tree removal and trimming. "

Yes, that's pretty much my take on things as far as Bush coming here now vs. in a few days. We need to put all resources toward the fire without trying to land AF1 and give him a tour.

    NO!

You guys don't get it.

The Democrats are shoring up support in San Diego, San Bernardino, Ventura, and LA County by playing the sympathy.

The issue is that there are on the SCENE and IN PERSON.

The voters don't realize that the democrat politicians keep voting for higher taxes and screw up the manufacturing base.

They don't care that the politician is vetoeing funding for emergency services.

They only want to see the guy in person taking command.

Davis has done exactly that in the last 24 hours.

He may be on his way out... but where's Arnold and George been?

NO WHERE.

I'm saying that the GOP needs to get real and get in person in front of the voters and the cameras.

Davis is a first class Clymer -- blaming the Feds for not getting people on the ground right away -- he didn't ask for them until late yesterday afternoon.
