Just jumped on here at work, and don't have time to review all the messages, but has anyone heard of parts of Vista in San Diego County being evacuated, someone said they heard some parts were, near Brengle Terrace. My co-worker just left to go home in case that was true, but I'm trying to find some confirmation.

Oh, MAN...I cannot STAND this anymore. "Local leaders" are "outraged" that the US government has not responded quickly enough to suppress devestating wildfires caused in part by CA's so-called "forestry policy"...it's not CA's stupd laws that are to blame that the fed won't send air tankers until they KNOW they will be ALLOWED TO PICK UP WATER by the environazi CA STATE GOVERNMENT.

In 2001, 12 federal firefighters were killed in the NW because the takner they requested and THOUGHT was coming was HELD UP BY THE STATE FORESTRY SERVICE. The water didn't get there in time to save them.

Good news, I just spoke with a friend who lives off Mesa Rd in Santee, this is the north east side of Cowles Mountain near Big Rock Park. Her area was spared so she is very happy.

Not near Getty (new or old). Getty is by Brentwood (new) and Malibu (old)....It would be in danger IF you hear of Malibu or Santa Monica Mountains. IT IS NOT IN THE MALIBU OR SANTA MONICA MTNS! The Simi Valley/Chatsworth fire could move that way.

Looks like the number of fires is diminishing. Below is a map of the current situation, and below that one from earlier in the day. You can also see from the smoke plumes that the wind direction has shifted and perhaps diminished in velocity.

I heard on the news this morning the fire outside SanDiego was an accident started by a hunter separated from his hunting party.
