Thank you! I remembered something about that in the summer. I'm glad you found the post. With so many of these being arson, I've wondered if it was a form of terrorism.
I heard on the news this morning the fire outside SanDiego was an accident started by a hunter separated from his hunting party.

According to news reports, at least one of the fires allegedly was started by a hunter who was lost.

He thought he was lost and he set off a flare to let people know where he was. I don't call that an "accident". I call that criminally and terminally STUPID. I hope he goes to jail for a minimum of 15 years, and all of his assets are sold to satisfy the costs of what he caused.
