You need to remember that our mayor is an idiot, right up there with Davis.

Some badly needed humor...sadly true. :)

The CFD are concerned of this fire merging to the Cedar fire just north of Poway/Ramona. That would be unthinkable.

The problem is that a relatively small part of what has burned in these fires is anything like forest of the sort over which environmentalists conflict with extractionists. Except for up where it's getting into Crestline and that area, most of this is brush fire, and no one's fighting to cut brush. If anything, they're complaining about being forced to clear brush away from their buildings when the fire inspectors come around every summer.

Just guessing, but I think today is the first day the aircraft, equipment and men were available to us.

MSNBC getting ready to report on the Simi Valley but commercials are a lot more important not to mention a bunch of fluff.

30,000 homes are endangered in SoCal right now. Looks like the winds have kicked back up.

According to the Anchor's Dad on CNN -- all schools/universities shut in San Diego. Winds are popping up again in the area. Ashes just keep coming down all over San Diego. Her Dad is reporting that a lot of San Diego firefighters had been sent to San Bernardino to help out before the San Diego fire started. The animals at the Zoo have not been affected. Most of the horses in E. San Diego have gotten their horses/livestock to safe areas. Churches in San Diego are organizing all over San Diego to take needed items to Qualcomm and to Balboa Park.

limited resources in equipment and vast amount of land mass to cover. Sending prayers your way. Keep safe.

That is quite an image. And something very similar to what we saw a half mile away from our house yesterday. (before we evacuated)

one lives in Torrance, and the other in North LA.

Torrance is fine. There's no danger there. As far as North L.A., I have no idea where you mean or what cities are there. Sorry.

CHP site just had, for a brief moment, another report of a new fire at I-15 and Limonite. That's the third time I've seen such a report over the last couple of days from that location. In each case CHP has quickly responded. Sounds like that area may have a persistant firebug.

Wow, Markman46, you go way back. "S" mountain is known as Cowles Mtn and its in Mission Trails Park on the north side of Mission Gorge Rd. So far the fire hasn't crossed over MIssion Gorge Rd.
