Praying for you all out there.
Ah, lived there for years. "VA doesn't care about us and the rest of hte world doesn't know we exist."
I learned that quickly in the 6 months I've lived in Virginia - it was far worse during the 21 years I lived in Dleaware.

"Would love to just knock their vehicle off the road into the fire!"Oh me too. We had one running around through Central PA and NY State lighting forest fires. Chased the bugger all over...well, converged would be a better word. He was caught and faced federal charges.

Mega OT for all the OT whoresI miss the days of being an OT whore! Nothing like time and a half, with the possibility of double time to make the heart grow fonder.

It's an Alice Cooper Song
Can't Sleep, Clowns Will Eat Me
Don't sing me lullabies
I won't close my eyes
I can't close my eyes
It's true, I'm doomed
Til dawn shines through
Got too many things to do
Got friends to see
I can't miss a thing
It's true, I'm through
I'm screwed, unglued
I won't close my eyes
I can't close my eyes
I never close my eyes
You see, they're always there with funny hair
Oh, I'm so scared
It happens to me every night
Can't sleep, the clowns will eat me
They always want to take a bite
Can't sleep, the clowns will eat me
And if you think this isn't real
I'll show you wounds that never heal
To them I'm just a happy meal
Can't sleep, the clowns will eat me
Make the coffee black as night
Help me through the night
I know their appetite for me
I'm meat but I'm sweet as can be
And if I do too much booze
I begin to snooze
I hear the big old floppy shoes
It's true, I'm stew, unchewed
I won't close my eyes
I can't close my eyes
I never close my eyes
See, they're always there with that funny hair
Oh, I'm so scared
It happens to me every night
Can't sleep, the clowns will eat me
They always want to take a bite
Can't sleep, the clowns will eat me
And if you think this isn't real

BK says new fire in SFV.. Granada Hills area
To: SCalGal
"Where is Porter Ranch in relation to where you live? "I am east and south. I *should* be fine....." Granada Hills? I live in Chatsworth. 2 hours ago I should have hung my last 2 T-Bone steaks outdoors for that smoky taste. I saw the C-130's dropping fire-retardant 2 miles away. Did the job! Now things are quiet and less smoky. I am afraid for a friend in Santa Clarita, though.

SAN DIEGO PRESS CONFERENCE
Mayor Murphy:
Bad news is that there is much more damage than originally thought.
Good news is that the weather is changing for the better, winds have died down and the fire is moving east and is being driven by vegetation as opposed to structures.
President Bush has declared San Diego city and county a disaster area clearing the way for victims to apply for federal financial aid.
Governor Davis, in today's visit, pledged additional resources.
Most school districts, UCSD and SDSU will again be closed on Tuesday.
Fire Chief Bowman:
The fire has become a "stable situation."
In a 75 percent completed walk through of the affected areas, the following damage was noted and was found to be much higher that first estimated:
In Scripps Ranch area:
over 300 homes destroyed
six homes damaged
More information at www.scrippsranch.org
In Tierra Santa:
Eleven homes destroyed
33 homes significantly damaged
Five firefighters have lost their homes in the San Diego County fires.
Police Chief Lansdowne:
Twelve members of the SDPD (sworn and civilian) have lost their homes.
Most city facilities (except for essential services such as police, fire, water and sewer) will be closed again on Tuesday.
Next briefing will be at 11 AM Tuesday, unless the situation changes.

FF calling for strike team to protect Happy Jack complex. Not sure where that is.
Stuck FF finally dug out and heading down hill.
Gov Ahnold on news earlier shaking hands with FFs along Simi Fire I think it was. Ahnold lifted their spirits it looked like and then headed off for his mansion.
Must be good to be the gov.

A friend of mine was evacuated Saturday (I think - it's all starting to blur together) from San Bernadino, near the University. Her neighbor's roof was a little singed, but her house is fine.
There are people who I can't get a hold of who I am worried about.
