By writing "almost an instananeous event", it sounds like D-Day in reverse, or a pre-historic version of the California Gold Rush. :)
Amazing. DNA from a 9,000 year old skeleton; and the hair (Laci's)found on the plyers in Scott Peterson's boat has been compromised by 'handling'. . .
Would say, 'go figure'; but we do not have to.
As for Cheddar man and the more recent determinations of our history; find it all fascinating. The further back we go; it seems the more forward 'we' become.

Was Pat Buchannan there first, holding up his hand saying: "Stop!"?
Were the schools bilingual in Anglo, Saxon and Welsh?
Did PETA excoriate them for following behind the herds in an effort to obtain meat?
As the glaciers receded, did they preserve the wetlands?
Was "Dick" Gephardt's hair just as good as it is today?
Inquiring minds...
LOL. . .does confirms my 'back to the future' suspicions, for sure.
Check this out.

Was there a group before Picts?
Coming up to the present: Folks are now quite worried about recent immigrants, who seem to not be able to get along with others.
