[history]
E.T., the extraterrestrial, may prowl neighborhoods on Halloween with Hollywood's other soft-and-squishy renditions of intelligent alien life forms.
But when might we humans actually, finally encounter the real thing?
Probably in your lifetime. By 2025.
The leading experts in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, Calif., recently completed the most systematic calculations ever performed on when the human race is likely to contact intelligent alien life for the first time.

A project of the SETI Institute and the University of California at Berkeley...I can understand why Berkeley would be looking for any intelligent life, not having any around locally, but how would they recognize it?

The Democrats will be falling all over themselves to get the space aliens drivers licenses.

The libbies will no doubt want to put them on welfare and give them driver's licenses without background checks -

For years, pundits and political scientists from across the ideological spectrum have been at a loss for how to explain Al Gore. None of the explanations ever seem to fit quite right, though. I think Ive finally figured out why. Its because hes from outer space. ...CLOSE ENCOUNTERS: IS AL GORE AN ALIEN?

The Dems would form a new axis of evil with the aliens, Islamists, and the UN.

I have no doubt that life exists elsewhere in the cosmos. Thinking that we're the whole tamale in an infinite universe is just silly, not to mention an enormous waste of empty space.
Personally, I think that the rest of the cosmos is aware of us already...and regards the Sol system as the celestial trailer park of the Milky Way and the inhabitants of Earth as the crazy cousin that nobody talks about at family gatherings.
I mean, c'mon...just look at us during summertime alone. We go to the beach to soak up rays, but first coat ourselves with stuff that...uh...blocks the sun's rays.
Then we spend hours upon hours and dollars upon dollars making sure our lawns grow fast, thick and green...and then we reward its success by mowing it down.
Then we take the birthday of our Savior and turn it into a holiday where we all gather around a dead tree and eat candy out of our socks.
Is it any wonder we haven't heard from extra-terrestrials? Hell, *I'd* avoid this planet if hadn't been born here.

My tourist guide to this place reads: "Mostly Harmless". The people who wrote that book never encountered (1) a Democrat in session, (2) a woman with PMS, and (3) Windows users when their workstation crashes for the third time...in one hour.
BTW, does anyone know when the next transport is flying by? According to recent reports, it made a nonstop flight over Colorado...
