haven't heard or seen anything about the fires all morning.
Is it under control?? If not, why aren't news networks talking about it? What's going on.

My God, I am stunned.I have been reading these threads since yesterday and I am stunned also. We had to cancel our planned trip to San Diego this year because of a family crisis or else we might be in the middle of this disaster. You all have my prayers.

Mike calling on radio from El Cajon, says so far everything looks okay from Greenfield, now open to Christian High School; Garrison Road, Grant Hills Drive, everything open in that area

Not a lot of out in the filed news this morning. I'm sure at first light we'll get a better idea. I'm concerned about El Cajon and now Descanso!
Thank you for your continious radio/CHP updates.
I did sleep all night and I'm sure I'll have a busy day with clients. One of our insureds lost their home and I imagine there will be many more. My heart goes out to them!

I just saw footage of the area surrounding VIEJAS casino. So now ALL the casinos have been surrounded. That's weird. I woke up today with a terrible headache. I guess from the air outside. I feel crappy. It's going to be a very long day.

You've got a tough job ahead of you with all the claims that will be pouring in, and then having to deal with those who will be distraught. Prayers for your strength and of course for them.
I've gotta go to work. Back later tonight.

For perspective, Cali occupies an area the size of GA through Virginia and parts of Maryland. ;-) I know, I'm just wondering about a possibility of similar problems, re: arson, etc., in Northern Calif. And I am ignorant of any wind conditions existing in N.Cal affecting any fires.

Hey, Mo!
Any local stations that I can tap into from up here in Idaho? I'm getting zip news on from the national cable networks. Donna's sister that just sold her house in Ramona said that the house is now ashes. Marron Valley is a concern to her Mom.

I suppose the casinos have a good fire break with those big parking lots. Take care of yourself today! I plan on staying in air conditioning all day and I wear a mask when I'm out.

Just got up. I was hoping things were going to look better this morning -- they're not, at least not noticably.
Air is thick again and local TV is busy announcing even more locales gave been ordered to evacuate.

Wow! BkBinder, good to hear from you. Thank God for Donna's sis but I feel bad for the new owner. I get calls all the time from people wanting to insure their homes with a shake roof and not a lot of brush clearance! They are paying the price today (rather the insurance companies are and you and I eventually).
Back to your question, there is a link on post number 960 to KOGO 600 on the a.m. dial. I have been getting the best coverage on this site as all the local Freepers are watching and listening as well as posting the CHP reports. I have never seen anything like this and the long term affects will be devestating. We only have 400 or so firefighters on the lines, more to arrive from out of state. Our system has been mismanaged and it appears that Gray Davis gave all of our money to the prision guards and left the firefighters with the bare minimum.
Mission Trails park has burned almost to Mission Gorge Rd. If it crosses Mission Gorge we are screwed. Cowles Mtn remains, I was tempted to go up there this morning but I need to keep my lungs healthy for San Diego One Day.
I'll keep in touch, give my little Freepettes a big hug!
Love ya,
Maureen

Could someone who knows how start a new thread for today.... Thanks!
To: BkBinder
Oh I forgot to mention Marron Valley, last I heard the fire has not crossed Hwy 94 and no structures are threatened. My little bro lives at the base of Lyons Peak (sticks of Jamul) and he is o.k. for now, ready to go if necessary. Have you been able to get in touch with Donna's parents? I hope so, many prayers for your family at this time.
Love ya,

Thank you! Yes, it may be a busy day. The best we can do is be good listeners and pass the info on to the claims professionals and make sure our clients get taken care of. One of our employees has been evacuated so who knows where he is. I look forward to your reports tonight!
Take care, stay safe.

Do you or any Freepers have any info on the area of Mt. Woodson in Ramona? My brother and his family live there and I haven't been able to reach them at all. Prayers going up and staying up for all
