WELCOME TO THE MUSIC DEDICATION!
We are here to provide music and entertainment for our troops, their families, and friends. If we appear to be having fun as well, then you are half way to understanding the concept of this music dedication. Below you will find a variety of music. Some you may like. Others you may not. DJ Tonkin and Ma return after a long stint in the Looney Bin for Deejays. Their selections are directly below. It is highly unlikely you will find anything offensive in their sections. Please keep in mind that we consider this to be a warning to anyone that clicks anywhere on this music thread and finds something offensive. We will let you know. If you choose to click on it and then become offended, we will simply direct you to this reminder. You can mouse over to any music played by other Deejays to find out whether it is appropriate for you. Thank you!

We'd love to hear from you.

Just A Thought

As much as I'd like to believe that I'm as hip as Beth and MoJo, I'm not. So? If you look over the Current Music (MoJo's section) and Beth's Music Mix and you find that this isn't your style of music, please go to the music below. The kids don't want to offend anyone and begged me to tell all of you. So? For the sake of your eardrums and mine, please don't complain if you listen to music that is not intended for the "distinguished" members of our society. That would be all of you in my generation. (MoJo and Beth would consider us "old", but we all know better.)---DJ Ma

It's something I'd heard in the 70's. Said it in passing to my daughter the other night and she said she'd never heard it before. (Not wanting to be judgmental myself, you understand, but I have somewhat formed that opinion about a few people I've encountered.)

BTW, Mini Cut sure falls in that Top 5 MHABGSITW category. (There are more slots available in that one, you know, because I only have one MHABGSITW! My MHABGSITW won the #1 spot though, by a unanimous nonpartial vote! In fact, for spots 2-5, I may invite some others to vote, too.)

Mini Cut beats the dog in the charming, cuteness, and cuddly factor, but as far as dogs go, you've got a winner there, too. LOL

My pleasure to be of service.

I am grateful for this opportunity to help in a very small way.

This is the reason this Canteen is so very important.

And thank you for your support today and every day!!

You know how I'd picture the Canteen, if it was a real place?

I picture a joint straight out of a '40s movie. Smoky, with ceiling fans and a jukebox with big-band and tropical music playing in the background, all wood-paneled and some plants. Low lights, but lots of tables with candles on them, maybe some Tiki torches about. A long, mahogany bar with lots of bright brass, photos and memorabilia from past wars and thousands of units and servicemen, and happy, friendly hosts and hostesses about. Bartenders and barmaids all ready with a cold drink for whomever might belly up to it, and a smile and an ear as well.

I picture a combination of Trader Jon's in Pensacola and the Trade Winds in St. Augustine (both date to the '40s, BTW).

Pool tables, card tables, dart boards, all for the asking. Big, comfortable chairs to sit in.

"MHABGSITW..."

????????????????????????

Thanks for the compliment, as I'm sure that's what it was. Whenever I say to Mrs. Cut how great he is, and how much I love him, she just smiles and says, "You're welcome!"

Actually, Tonk, I'm only an E-6, but I'm glad to meet D2 anyway.

I won't be up for Chief until next year.

If I ever missed one of your wOOhOOs, I apologize. I'm here weird hours. (Like, I'll soon be gone again because this time I woke up after only 2.5 hours of sleep -- and I just don't think that's gonna be enough. Also, I occasionally work [LOL] -or- "color.") That said, there's no excuse for making a mistake (okay, beyond the human part, but I'm not liberal enough to try to turn myself into the victim here).

Please forgive the punchiness. If I were more awake, I'd probably try to be more sincere, because I *DO* sincerely apologize if I've inadvertently missed one of your big moments here!

In fact, how about I just go ahead and say:

Thanks
for being a part of
the USO Canteen FReeper Style,
MEG33!!!

Don't laugh, but I'm working on a story idea right now that features just such a bar. It'll be fiction, however, if that is, I ever finish it.

I'm picturing old Jeep bodies made into tables. The bar itself is called the "Wild Goose".
