Aperture on this Tak is just 200 mm, and this baby gets $197,000 including the base and tracking unit....High quality stuff.

It's some of those Grey Davis voters from many planets, the Jupiter contingent, gathered together to begin the process of recalling Arnold.

If memory serves, this is just one of those floating monolith thingies that leads to an ancient interstellar wormhole terminal through which travellers can be reborn as a "Star-Child".

Cool. Is there one close to my house on Mars?

Thanks for the clarification. I was hoping some freeper would post either the correct pronunciation or spelling.

It's the spot where Exxon has started drilling for oil. Real high quality crude there and lots of it from what I hear.

We weren't kidding when we said "Earth First....We'll Drill the Other Planets Later."

We've gotten sick of all that OPEC crap.

:-)

Amateurs astronomers have come quite a long way in the past 10 years.

I don't disagree with your point regarding the relative quality of the image given the tools, but "amateur astronomers" have made most of the major scientific discoveries regarding our solar system of note, including the majority of the planetary and notable cometary discoveries.

Traditionally almost all astronomers in history have been, technically speaking, amateurs. It's the tools available to all that have changed. I love CMOS.
