Careful Ed, your insecurities are showing.....

This was so sad when I heard this because I've always loved Ed Harris as an actor. I had no idea he was this much of a bleeding-heart panzy.

No, a man is really an effeminate PC idiot, who has spent his entire life pretending to be someone else and dancing around in tights.
I'm sure that he loathes 90% of all men. The question he must ask himself is why?

These people must want their movies to fail. They have to know that if they spout drivel like this, we won't pay to see their movies!

The film may outweigh his pathetic remarks because it features a young man with "disabilities" whom he embraces as part of the football squad, showing that there is a place for those individuals if we give them a chance.

Heck, he's been on every good Freeper's boycott list since
this commie stunt with pals Nolte and Baldwin. And I'll bet a lot of Freepers had him pegged long before that.

and he knows how to shoot a gun and how to drive a pickup truckHuh. Some definition of a "man". I know how to shoot a gun (own several, in fact), and know how to drive a pick-up truck (I used to own a 4x4 Ford) and I drink (wine). And I'm NOT a man (if I were, my husband would be quite surprised). What's Ed's problem, anyway?

This Harris, he said this about Bush at a pro-abortion thing/rally if I remember. So let`s put this into perspective here; Ed is for killing American babies, but not terrorists. Does that about sum it up? Tell ya what Ed, ask a doctor to show you how to do an abortion, then let me see you do it when that 'fetus' is 8 months in the womb.

I'm not sure I was ever destined to see
Radio anyway, but in any event I see nothing about that quote which leads me to believe I should boycott any Ed Harris movies.
Ed Harris is a very good actor who has been (usually) strong in many fine movies.
That quote is Ed Harris's opinion of George W. Bush. One may or may not agree with it (I happen to think that even if it's somewhat asinine, the implicit point about drinking and manhood is fine as far as it goes, although I also suspect that Bush would agree, being a recovering alcoholic himself). One may also object to the impolitic nature of making such remarks in a speech in a public forum. More generally, one may disagree with Ed Harris's political opinions in various ways (i.e. about abortion).
But that disagreement (with his opinions) and disapproval (of the impoliteness and rudeness with which he made this remark) do not add up to anything "unpatriotic" on Ed Harris's part nor does it make it "patriotic" to boycott his movie(s) in retaliation for him holding a negative opinion about the President.
Holding a negative opinion about the President is not, in and of itself, "unpatriotic". It's lame that I have to even say this.
To: jonalvy44
Come on, we can't possibly boycott everyone whose opinion we disagree with.....there won't be any movies left to see.

"I havent even been drinking, but, at all, but, you know, being a man, Ive got to say that weve got this guy in the White House who thinks he is a man, you know, who projects himself as a man because he has a certain masculinity, and he's a good old boy, and he used to drink, and he knows how to shoot a gun and how to drive a pickup truck, etcetera like that. Thats not the definition of a man, God Dammit!" --Ed Harris Ed,
just because you played a sniper in "Enemy At the Gates" does not mean that you can shoot or get to criticize native Texans' shooting ability. I'd lay good money that if you and Bush were to have accurate rifles and pointing them at each other at 1000 yards, Bush will be the one that gets up and walks off the field while you get to bleed and regret that you were ever born after picking a fight with Texas.
Signed,
A Texan that will never see you movies again.

This movie looks suspiciously like a Forrest Gump remake, concentrating on the football era of his life.

Sign of incoherency--the overuse of the phrase "you know." Sad, Ed Harris just got added to my list of "not to watch" actors and their movies.

This coming from a man that chose to turn his back on Kasan during his recieving of the Thalburg award because Kasan told the truth to the McCarthy committee. I call him a communist supporter and a treasonist.

No need to worry about me. After being bored to the point of entering into a coma by "Pollock", I would run screaming from any movie in which he was even an extra. He was entertaining before he decided to take himself oh, so seriously.
