Dean's dream-destroying plan. (Calculate Your Howard Dean Pay Cut.)

In a recent speech at Georgetown University, Howard Dean unveiled his economic plan, calling it "Reclaiming the American Dream." Since its centerpiece is a complete repeal of the Bush tax cuts, the plan amounts to a gigantic tax increase. And let there be no mistake: Mr. Dean's claims to the contrary, "Reclaiming the American Dream" will result in a huge tax increase on child-rearing working families. How ironic it is that one of Mr. Dean's "clear objectives" is to "[r]elieve the crushing burdens on American families." Contrary to the details of his schemes, he also claims his program "will strive for greater tax fairness for middle-class working families."

I've said that to people who argued against welfare reform. When I say, "Screw the beaurocracy, just mail them a check and call it a day."

They say. 'But they'll spend it on a destructive lifestyle. They don't know any better."

I ask. "Why are they being kept alive then if their lifestyle is so destructive?"

THat's where the ad hominem generally begins.

Dean is a nutcase. Once the regular folks start seeing his rants he is toast. But the leftys love him and will follow him forever. Right now Dean hasn't even floated by the country but he eventually will before heading over the falls and taking all his crew with him. They will crash into a large gooey pulp of quivering leftist jelly that can only murmer things like "no war, free health care, Bush sucks, gay marriage, Islam is OK, etc."

It's likely then at some point Hillary will take all this gooey jelly and spread it on her toast along with all the lesbians, "people of color" and the rest of the misfits in this county and try to get elected president. But she won't be elected, her thighs will just grow and her jowls and chest will continue to sag south.

So? What to do? I say support Sharpton! Why? Comic relief!

Someone should get an actual calculator online like the one for the tax cuts.

Right...if you were to create 1 million new government jobs at $50,000 each, that would cost only half as much as Dean's proposal.

So in other words, I would lose more money to Taxes than I have received in hard earned pay raises over the last two years.

That man has my vote </ sarcasm >

Dean would cost me over 3400 more in confiscatory taxes so as to buy the vote of some crack whore mother in rahway, NJ.

Ffffffffffffffffffff that!

What's even more amazing is that a couple making $40k will only pay $45 in Fed taxes! I wonder how much in Federal payouts of all types they receive (both direct and indirect).

When half of the population pays little or no taxes but still has voting clout we're headed for a disaster.

Maybe a turn of the phrase is in order... 'no representation without taxation'... that's sure to be a discussion starter.

You are definitely on to something. Those without a stake in the action don't care about the results.

Are you offsetting the effect of rising long-term interest rates due to a growing Federal deficit in your calculations?

Dean said his first act as President would be to fire Rumsfeld.

Is he under the impression that Rumsfeld would REMAIN in office if there was a change in administration?

I'm beginning to wonder if this man has a grasp of how this country works.

Tax-and-spend liberalism would return with a vengeance, beginning with a two-year $100 billion government program to "create 1 million new jobs." The plan doesn't mention how these government-created jobs at the state and local levels will be funded.

Nor does it mention what those jobs would be. My guess? First, more people working for the IRS. Gotta have new tax collectors if we're raising taxes. Second, trainers to train people for non-existent jobs that were long ago exported to India.
