This general gets it.
So does America.
And so do most of the troops...

I am inclined to believe that he is splendidly fit for such combat, and I thank God that we have such a man as General Boykin in our midst.Bump. Amazing the bias of the media and liberals, they support every offensive and putrid action and speech, yet denigrate the truth. Thank God for men such as Gen. Boykin - I pray that we had a military FULL of men and women like him.

You have nothing to fear but fear itself. The General is a great American.

Alas, the poor general is going to take it in the shorts!
The neocommunist, ultra-left wingers, especially those in the media, scream about being "non-judgmental," especially where non-Christian religions are involved.
They make a big deal about no link between Saddam and 9/11, like they knew, like it makes a difference. This general has clearly stated who the enemy is, it's the Muslims. The enemy is no more benign just because it is a religion than it would be as an "ism."
They'll scream about the loyal, good Muslims who are NOT terrorists. Let's see them! Trot 'em out! They are with us or against us and I see very few US Muslims coming out on our side. So long as the Saudis fund the terrorists, it is a world wide attack by Muslims, the fanatics doing the terror and fighting and the others supporting the terrorists.

Boykin may get it and you think you do but the President and Rumsfeld and the rest of the executive staff have said repeatedly that this struggle against terrorism is not a religious based idealogical fight. They have said that it not a war against Islam. Whether or not GWB is wrong and Boykin is right, Boykin has stepped over the line and I suspect he will be asked to resign or retire.
I ask this, if this is indeed a war against Islam or if Islam is defective and we cannot coexist with it, then do we outlaw Islam in the USA and everywhere where we have national interests? Do we, with prejudice, sanction, all Islamic leaders?
Words have a consequence and when one says something such as what Boykin said it implies action and policy. GWB spoke about this issue in a way to minimize the consequence of speech. He did this on purpose, not because he doesn't believe what you, I, and Boykin thinks but to be able to control future consequences of speech and subsequent actions.

We all know why Bush etc. needs to say this is not a fight against Islam, but in fact, IT IS. Whatever Islam was, it has morphed into a cult-like, Murder Inc. entity. Are there moderates? Yes. But note that the hate-filled rant of that Malaysian PM got a standing ovation from other Muslims, and, vast numbers of Islamists celebrated on 9-11, and in the ME, they are orgasmic when Jews and/or Americans are killed. Remove Islam from the picture for a minute and the world is a rather peaceful place. Unfortunately Bush must act tough and talk PC, but I don't need to pretend to buy it.
One day the moderate factions may rule Islam, but what the General is saying is TRUE NOW.

"I ask this, if this is indeed a war against Islam or if Islam is defective and we cannot coexist with it, then do we outlaw Islam in the USA and everywhere where we have national interests? Do we, with prejudice, sanction, all Islamic leaders?"No we do not outlaw Islam, how could we? We outlaw militant Islam extremists - they are relatively easy to spot. We should be asking those Islamic leaders who also fear the militant, to step forward and denounce those among them that are tearing at the fabric of Islam.
The last great war between Christianity and Islam was about 1500 A.D. This is a War about terrorism however the terrorists are of the Islamic faith; they are militant and they are abusing what their faith teaches.
The clear fact is a Jihad has been called for against all Christians...call that what you will.

I never said that the General wasn't stating the truth, I believe I said he will pay the price, however.

"One day the moderate factions may rule Islam, but what the General is saying is TRUE NOW." Moderates are only the plumage of Islam. The world mistakes the leaves for the fruit at its peril. This time, the roots.

While I generally agree with the General's comments, if he was saying them in uniform, I would disagree with that. Being secretly recorded in a church is typical LA Times, but officers should watch what they say in uniform. The higher ranking the officer the less he should say.
Besides, what would we all be saying if a Muslim officer said that our war against radical Islam was "Allah's righeous wrath against those who would pervert His will?"

Joe Scaraborough played a video of General Boykin, making his statements and as the Republican Congressman on the show pointed out, the General in on way made the statements that he is being accused of. He had a slide show and showed a picture of Bin Laden and asked is this the enemy and answered his own question, of course, he then showed Saddam Hussein and asked the same question and gave the same answer, but then he said that the first two were not the real enemy and he showed a drawing of Satan, and said this is the real enemy.
I believe that General Boykin may be the Christian general that Oliver North wrote about in his book, Mission Compromised. Read it.

"I believe that General Boykin may be the Christian general that Oliver North wrote about in his book, Mission Compromised." Who did the thwarting of the mission and why? I know it's fiction, but Ollie is probably couching the truth in the book.
