UPDATE FROM TERRI'S VIGIL SITE ON LOCATION... by floriduh voter and drk4the1: TERRI IS NOT BEING RE-HYDRATED AT MORTON PLANT HOSPITAL IN CLEARWATER, FL. The Governor's Office is under the impression and reporting that the procedure started at 7:07 pm. While it's being reported to the family attorney that she is not going to receive anything. A telephonic hearing is scheduled to begin at 8:30 pm est with Judge Douglas Baird re: Michael Schiavo's suit against Gov. Bush and his executive order of today. Additionally, Michael S. is disputing his removal as Terri's legal guardian. Anything helpful appreciated. Contact floriduh voter or the drk screen name. We are outside fighting the mosquitoes. H E L P !!!!!

If you continue to claim that all "credible" experts have said this then you haven't researched this case much, have you? Many respected experts in this field have examined Terri and said EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE. I guess they are just not credible because they don't fit what you want to hear?

I have an idea - if this is true, and they are re-hydrating Terri, and the MINO-HINO is not her "guardian" now and so can't control her environment, how about as many people as possible send her flowers - gifts, religious symbols that will be appropriate for her, etc? I would love to send her flowers. Just imagine if her room becomes a garden! (If someone who is in FL or knows more than me (which is everyone) I would like the address of the hospital, or whatever info is needed to send something.

What a ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL IDEA...Can someone find out if we are able to send her flowers or stuffed bears?? I HAVE A marvelous new TEDDY BEAR that would be so appropriate.I heard she wants to be a Vet. It says BELIEVE on it and a CROSS on the foot.......I think when she is much better they ought to start ANIMAL therapy. I have heard the dogs and pets can do WONDERS in rehab....

They may do all of that but what they can't do is react to Mom the way she reacts to anybody else and fit the defintion of persistent vegetative state. The fact that she reacts to her mother differently than anybody else indicates some higher function.

Bob Schindler set the facts straight about Terri not being comatose. He really put CNN's Aaron Brown in his place. Aaron Brown looked stupid asking Mr. Schindlier if he had any regrets. ("Do you think you did the right thing?")

Mr. Schindler made it clear that Terri could be taken care of, but the husband has been in the way.

Many medical schools still administer the oath. In some of them, the medical students who refuse to perform an abortion are harrassed about it

Since taking the Hippocratic Oath entails vowing to give no woman an abortifacient, I would have to conclude that in such schools as you describe, the Oath no longer has any real meaning.

That is what did it for me. The look on her face is exactly the look you see on a baby's face when it sees its mama.

I have worked with brain damaged, vegetative, comatose folks...Terri isn't vegetative.

A sure and knowledgeable neurologist told us to have our son institutionalized 7 years ago, as he was extremely retarded, would never progress. His speech was verbal salad, of no significance. His ability to read, which he taught himself to do at age 2 was of no importance. "No more significan than a trout's recognition of a fly on the water." Our son is now in the 6th grade at a good private (NOT special education) school making A's and B's. He has friends, loves the Harry Potter movies, in fact, ANY movie, and has a great career as an artist ahead of him, or any other thing he so desires. The neurologist was wrong about him, as are the ones claiming Terri is no longer there. I've worked with children with Cerebral Palsy, too. They are still people.

Automatic acceptance of authority is stupid and wrong. Challenge Authority! Get an education, and become the Authority. Then teach your students to do the same.
