I still don't understand how Knoblauch could fade so fast. He's completely out of baseball now. Sad. He was on the 1991 World Champion Twins, if I recall correctly. I think that's the same year he got Rookie of the Year. Considering he's won multiple championships, you can't feel ALL that bad for him. Many players go whole careers without getting that chance.

After wathing him kiss Urbina in game 1, maybe we should change his name to Pudge Packer. Good one. And what was up with the Fox announcers saying that Pudge kissing Ugie was simply "Latin passion"? I've never seen Posada kiss Rivera after a game, and both of them are Latino!

But the Yanks gave up a lot of good prospects for him, of which they're reminded every time they play the Twins!

Boone, Soriano, and Giambi. Plus the pitcher. That's like four automatic outs each time through the rotation.

But the Yanks gave up a lot of good prospects for him, of which they're reminded every time they play the Twins! No doubt. I feel a lot worse for Don Mattingly. He had the misfortune of playing entirely during the Yankees championship drought. I wonder if he and Buck Showalter ever kick back a few beers and think about what might have been. Buck had it happen to him twice, leaving the Yankees and Diamondbacks the year before they won it all. (There's that 'Buck' curse again, Bucky, Buckner, Buck)!

And of course we are cursed with Joe Buck.

David Cassidy sings God Bless America... I wish I knew why singers are so insecure that they can't sing the anthem, or God Bless America, straight, without all the flourishes. Some songs should stand on their own, and not be showcases for the singers. Just my opinion.

And of course we are cursed with Joe Buck. Yeah, I noticed that he called the Red Sox/Yankees game 7. Weird stuff.

Knobby was at a game during the first round.
He's trying to get back in. He should try Japan.
He remains a young man.

Yankees should be careful with Pierre. Pitch around him if necessary -- woops, looks like that's exactly what they're doing.

Mussina has had the misfortune of pitching against the pitchers the Yankees have trouble with. Santana for the Twins, Wakefield (twice) for the Red Sox, and now Beckett. He's the prototypical hard-luck pitcher. By now his ERA has to be below 4.00, which is right where he's been all season. Not stellar, but good enough to win most of the time if your team scores its usual number of runs.

Is Buck related to Mussina? He's been cheerleading all night.

Jeter may as well bat at the top of the order. There is never anyone on base when he gets up.
