Island Conservationist Finds Way to Rescue One of Hawaii's Most Endangered Species
Hawaii Reporter has learned an island conservationist working for two years secretly to avoid interference or seizure by the government of his work and property has successfully found a way to rescue one of Hawaii's most endangered and famous species --- the Kokia Cookei.

Keith Robinson, manager of the 16-year-old Kauai Wildlife Reserve and co-owner of the island of Niihau, worked secretly underground using the tactics he learned as a child from friends of the family involved in fighting the Nazis in World War II through the French Resistance.
His work paid off. He found a way to mass produce the Kokia Cookei, a striking relative of Hibiscus, that was historically found in the wild only in remnant dryland forest near Mahana, northeast of Puu Nana, Western Molokai, at approximately 660 feet. Today, the government reports this tree is extinct in the wild and that only 10 grafted plants are found in five different locations on the islands of Maui, Molokai and Oahu.
Robinson's discovery came when he learned how to make the plant grow its own roots from its own seeds rather than be grafted on to another tree in order to be cultivated.
But because of the continued hostility of the environmental community and the federal government toward Robinson and other Hawaii private landowners with endangered species on their property, Robinson says he will not be publicly distributing the seeds or revealing the information on how to grow them.
Robinson confirmed the number of seeds produced was in excess of two dozen, but unofficial sources speculate the number of seeds produced exceed several hundred.
The discovery will surely rock the environmental community, which has tried and failed for 30 years to produce viable seeds of this cherished species.
The most spectacular and unusual aspect of the story is the project was hidden for two years using methods copied from those involved in the French Resistance. This is likely the first time in Hawaiian environmental history, and possibly American environmental history, that such a situation has occurred.
Hawaii Reporter will continue to cover this breaking story and expand on the impact of Robinson's discovery, the continuing problems with federal government's imposition on private landowners with endangered species on their property, and how the policies of radical environmentalists and government bureaucrats actually causes more damage to the environment.

Of course this appears to make no sense. But, one must remember that the goal of environmentalists is, above all, to take control of the land away from private citizens. Plants and animal species are actually peripheral to this goal.

If the envirowackos discover his stash they are liable to get a court order to seize them and then destroy them.

Of course you realize that as soon as they find where he has these trees, they will kill them by refusing to allow him to continue to cultivate them.

Their destruction is assured, but only as a by-product of the land's seizure.

And a Janet Reno "rescue" of the seeds, as in "rescuing" Elian Gonzalez.

A couple of weeks ago, I was watching Tora Tora Tora. There is a scene in that movie about how a radar in Hawaii couldn't be placed in an ideal high spot because of environmentalists. Even back then, they were weakening America and costing lives. Of course, if that movie were made today, the scene would have never been filmed.

Yup. Same story nowadays. Look up SURTASS LFA - NRDC is trying to kill that program.

Actions like this drive the Enviral Nazis even more insane.
Their entire successes have been getting critters and plants declared an endangered species.
The last thing they want is for good science to develop a way to produce the species on a large scale.
The good news is good news for this plant, and those who want to be free of the bad science ESA's used by the
enviro nazis.
Thank you!

Maybe the environmentalists will ask themselves what was key to Mr. Robinson's success...
It was love, a deep abiding sense of accountability for the land and its attributes that only comes with ownership. You have to be there, often daily, to see what is happening and why. You'll risk your life for it and ask for nothing.
There is a raft of reasons the environmentalists hate this kind of work. They would have to admit that it takes human intervention to help nature flourish. They would have to admit that human development and private property can be an environmental asset. That is a secret they don't want to get out. It would mean that the real estate squeezes of their sponsors would collapse. It would mean that access to resources would have to open. HORRORS! The little people would be making money!
They would have to admit that those "ignorant" landowners often know more than their sometimes pompous, lazy, and indentured professorate. It would mean that they would have to get off their flabby asses and get to work. It would mean that they would be accountable if they failed.
All that righteousness, all that venom they've spewed, all the harm they've done to people has been proven COUNTERPRODUCTIVE to what they said they wanted (which was a lie all along). What environmentalists really want is to feel superior while inflicting suffering upon people for their imagined and projected failings. They want revenge for the emptiness of their own nihilism.
God bless Mr. Robinson. I hope he isn't crushed.
