MANSFIELD -- Thirty years ago tonight, strange things were happening in the skies over north central Ohio.

A close encounter in Mansfield, that has since become known as "The Coyne Incident," is still raising eyebrows among believers and UFO investigators.

I was thinking more along the lines of commercially leased aircraft and corrupt/organized crime airport employees. The toxic waste is loaded into seperate tanks and released at altitude via the fuel dump lines. The planes fly legitimate domestic flight paths to avoid customs inspections.

We drove to the very far end of the base in a segregated area," Gleason went on, "finally stopping near a well-guarded building. The security police saw us coming and just sort of moved back as we passed them and entered the structure. There were a number of labs we passed through first before we entered a section where Nixon pointed out what he said was the wreckage from a flying saucer, enclosed in several large cases." Gleason noted his initial reaction was that this was all a joke brought on by their earlier conversation on the golf course. But it wasn't, as Gleason soon learned. "Next, we went into an inner chamber and there were six or eight of what looked like glass-topped Coke freezers. Inside them were the mangled remains of what I took to be children. Then - upon closer examination - I saw that some of the other figures looked quite old. Most of them were terribly mangled as if they had been in an accident."

During and after hurricane Andrew I was part of a team evaluating and estimating the cost of repairing the base. The only segregated area's were the munitions dump which was evacuated of all weapons the next day, several old abandoned rocket test stands, an abandoned jet engine test stand, and the Florida Air National Guard (FANG) hanger. The munition dump was a cluster of several blast proof buildings where bombs were stored. So the only building meeting this description was the FANG building. The Miami Herald took a picture of this building and published right after the storm and it was ripped open exposing the damaged F-16's that were inside. One of the aircraft was blown outside of the building and ripped apart. Later the National Enquirer took the same picture and superimposed a flying saucer over it. Me and my employees surveyed every building on the base except family housing, the hospital, BX, and commisary. Since I was a supervisor and more responsible I surveyed the classified buildings. I cannot tell you what was inside the buildings, but I can tell you there was nothing in them not of this earth. So this sounds like one of Mr. Gleasons bull shit sessions which he was so fond of. I can just see him say suur-rouunded with a wave of his hands and a jiggle of his waist.

Wild ass stories like this just expose how stupid this whole UFO phenom is.

Of course, some scenarios could account for all the above put together.

Nevertheless, given that none of us were there close to the time Nixon and Gleason reportedly were . . . you have at least a fair chance of being right.

They both passed away years ago, but they both knew that what they say was completely foreign to anything we knew about. Too huge, too slow and too silent!

How's the teaching, Quix? Going good I hope.

Been rough with so much structure and detailed syllabus. Now have had enough discussions that I understand I can do thing much more my own way and style. So, I hope the 2nd have of the semester goes easier.

Tons of grading of essays in a coposition course. And, 9 semester hours in Taipei was full time with full benefits. Also, composition courses were calculated based on 1.5 hours counted for every hour of class--because of all the extra time grading papers. Not so here.

Nevertheless, I much enjoy teaching .

It's hard starting a new job anywhere. I wonder if you will find things 'dumbed down' in our schools here? The liberals have made too many bad changes!!

I use the captioning thing, too, usually just to cut down on the noise.

Welllll, it has been a bit of a shock to see that the K-12 don't seem to be doing their job.

Students don't know the difference between ARE and OUR; then and than; will and well!!!

And sometimes the plural, tense errors are equal to ESL Chinese students. Sheesh.

But I love helping students learn and grow. And, next semester I get to teach intro to Psych. So, that will be fun.

Thankfully, I love English too--except for the crazy grammar stuff!

The Kecksberg program seems to be credible. And, they reported that some of the analysis from the dig at Roswell from a year or so ago--evidently the soil is VERY different in the areas of the metal anomolies per samples from the ditch dug across the anomalies. We shall see. I gather that analysis is till going on.

In terms of the TV behind you . . . perhaps you've not thought of using 2 mirrors to check the TV screen with periodically. You might could even use a shaped one to enlarge the captioning as the final mirror.
