I am posting this message from Pinellas Park Florida concerning a matter of utmost urgency. At this very moment the state of Florida is committing a crime against humanity. A young woman named Terri Shiavo is being starved to death in Hospice care by order of the Florida courts. Terri suffered massive injuries several years ago which left her in severe physical condition and in need of major therapy. However, her husband has seen to it that Terri had no therapy or medical treatment, making it clear that his only wishes were for Terri to just hurry up and die. (lots of life insurance money involved) When he saw that Terri was going to fight for her life he began proceedings to have her euthanized… The mainstream media has lied about this case from word one saying that Terri is in a comma or a persistent vegetative state when she is actually very responsive to the attention and instructions given to her by others. The media has also stated that Terri is on life support which she is not….The only way Terri is assisted is by a feeding tube. Her injuries have left her unable to chew or speak because she has been denied any type of rehabilitation. Terri’s husband is strongly suspected in this case. Nurses and countless others have filed affidavits with Florida’s legal system stating that Terri’s husband is extremely abusive toward her and that he tried to kill her by giving her injections of pure insulin while she lay in the hospital. Yet, no criminal investigation has ever been carried out in this matter….why? Because Terri’s husband received nearly one million dollars to pay for Terri’s rehabilitation, and it is strongly suspected that he owns the judge who is handling this case. On Wednesday Terri’s husband won his battle to have her murdered, and her feeding tube was removed from her body…She has had no food or liquids since 2 pm wed. I came to Florida to investigate this matter. I just couldn’t believe that this could happen in America. But its all true and a helpless Terri Shiavo lies dying a horrible death while her parents and loved ones are kept from her side by armed guards. I have been standing vigil with Terri’s family for the past two days and I must say that this is the most horrifying thing I have ever witnessed. We need your help to get Terri’s story out before its too late. She only has a couple of days left. Our group has been in contact with Jeb Bush, who has the power to take executive action and stop this atrocity from occurring in his state. Jeb is obviously more worried about his political career than he is the life of one of his constituents….Don’t let Florida hide Terri’s story any longer….Go to her web site www.terrisfight.org and get the facts. You will be alarmed at what you see. Please call president bush, Governor Bush, and any other government officials you can think of, but most of all help us to get the truth out. I have watched reporters from CNN, FOX, WGN, CBS, ABC, and MSNBC interview Terri’s family. They are filming and reporting the truth but it is never getting past the cutting room floor. Please call your local papers and radio stations….We must get the truth out or this woman will be dead very soon. No one in Florida’s courts or political system will even hear Teri’s case or her family’s cries for justice. I guess its just not good politics to try and do the right thing anymore. Please help…. everything you do can make a difference…If the state of Florida can get away with murdering a helpless woman then the rest of us are fair game………PLEASE HELP. This is REAL and it’s happening right now.

Well, I can't speak for Jeb, but based on teh highly-charged emotional anger of many of the posters here, in combination with the signs from the gathering I've seen posted in the articles recently I'd bet Jeb's security contingent probably told him to stay away... ;0)

Terri has been examined by several doctors, not all of which agree that she cannot or will not improve. It is my understanding from what I have read on these many threads that only the testimony of the doctors chosen by Michael Schiavo were given consideration.

On Sunday, October 19, 2003, as the round-the-clock vigil continues for Terri Schindler-Schiavo, protesters have arranged a demonstration to show their dismay at Florida’s Governor Jeb Bush.

Volunteers for the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation have learned that a group of Republican demonstrators are planning to shred their voter registration cards and officially change their party affiliations in order to call attention to the Governor’s refusal to intervene on behalf of Terri Schindler-Schiavo.

Governor Bush has received more than 130,000 petitions to intervene on behalf of the disabled Pinellas County woman since July of this year. He has been instructed by 7 distinguished legal experts that, not only does he have the authority to act, but that he also has an obligation to take action.

Mr. Bush, during his Gubernatorial race in Florida, called himself a “Champion of the disabled”.

On other fronts, Monsignor Thaddeus Malanowski, who has been Terri’s spiritual provider for over 3 years, was told he may not administer to her the sacrament of Holy Communion. Monsignor was informed by police at Hospice that he would be arrested if he tried to administer the Catholic woman the sacrament.

In a statement to the press, Michael Schiavo’s attorney, George Felos stated that the reason for this was that he didn’t want “anyone to do something that would cause Terri distress”.

Demonstrators will be convening at Hospice Woodside at 10.00am on Sunday. At that time, there will also be Sunday Worship in Terri’s name.

Using executive power to prevent a murder, or completion of a murder pending furthur investigation I just can't see as being equivolent of using it to circumvent congress. Apples and oranges.

This is a case of a self fulfilling prophecy and the fallacy of activist courts. A disabled dependent adult is denied treatment through court order and injunction, then when they get their logical result, they want to kill it.

Terri might be walking and talking as we speak if she had not been denied the treatment given to thousands in similar circumstances everyday.

It would probably help if pro-Life/Terri supporters weren't jumping down his throat with vitriol and threats. But he could still do the right thing no matter how emotional those people are.

Tell the people that something is very wrong with this case. Call on the people to swamp the legislature with protest for relief. Call on the legislature to convene an emergency session for a stay on the court. Either he believes in the sanctity of life and will stand up for it or he doesn't. It would be huge. Huge would be good. .

Sure. He could get up on TV, but that doesn't mean the networks and such would be required to run it. And since the Left has so much invested in her death, he'd get no airtime.

That, and if he was speaking and reached for a glass of water in the middle of it, people would flip out.

When my grandmother suffered a second stroke while in my care, it fell to me to make the decisin about using life support. Knowing her wishes, I declined the use of machines, but I certainly didn't deny her nourishment or anything else that would have made her more comfortable in her final days and hours. We knew she would not come out of the coma. The CT scan showed extensive damage, and yet when I sat at her bedside and held her hand and asked her to respond as to whether she could understand by squeezing my hand, she was able to do so.

The brain is an amazing creation and there is so much more that we do not know than there is what we do. There was a time in the medical profession that it was always thought to be better, and morally right, to err on the side of caution. Now decisions seem to be made routinely based only on what is most expedient for those calling the shots. It is reprehensible.

The truth is that there is enough evidence of Terri's brain function and alertness to give her a chance. That is being denied. It isn't artificial support that is being withheld. It is food and water and therefore she is being deprived of her fundamental, inalienable right to life, and in fact, is being subjected to a slow and torturous death.

There's a court order that allows Terri's feeding tube to be pulled, based on state law. What you want is Jeb to void the court order by an executive order ("stroke of the pen, law of the land, cool," Paul Begala).

And I really hate to point this out, but no murder investigation can be commenced until Terri is dead.

As a veteran pro-life rescuerer, I tell you you guys need to take matters into your own hand and remove her from that place. Get 100 people to dress in the same uniforms as the facility, get 10 armed security guards to deal with their personal security, get 14 ryder trucks and 14 manequins wrapped in sheets, storm the building, get her out, put the 14 manequins and her in trucks,and the trucks take off in different directions and all transfter the bodys to vehicles (under bridges, tunnels), and then someone take her out of state to care for her.

You're not only 1, advocating state and federal felonies in a public forum, but 2, thinking poorly. When the police and private security you mentioned shoot it out, do those deaths not count? What about innocent bystanders that may find themselves catching stray bullets from this crossfire?

Unfortunately, the same Judge Greer has allowed for the immediate disposal of the body by cremation (as per hubby's wishes), meaning no autopsy. Convenient. Kinda makes you wonder just how dirty some of the hands are in this case doesn't it?

Chad I hate to be the one to tell you this, but the can of worms was opened the day the gtube was removed from Terri Schiavos stomach. As for me, the lesser of two evils would be my first choice. Death, or taking a stand and possibly shooting oneself in the foot in the process, not a hard decision for me, Jeb would still have another foot to bear his weight, once Terri is dead, she has nothing.

My child deserves better, as does every handicapped person in this country/world. I understand the situation Jeb seems to find himself in, but I also understand that if it were his child laying in that bed, he would not even second guess what his choice would be. I would not want to be him right now, but unfortunatly one day I very well could be Mr. and Mrs. Schindler, and neither hell nor high water would keep me from my child.

So, again, the can of worms you speak so horrifically about, it has been dumped down the halls of the hospice, and could soon be coming for our handicapped children.

Lesser of two evils, that is my opinion.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but if you will be happy with a governor that is free to go against nearly a decade of court orders just because it's something YOU want to see happen, don't come complaining when you have a governor that goes against court orders on something you disagree with...

So, like I said - let's make sure he is on firm ground when and if he does anything, or you AND your child may regret it one day...

Have you ever sat by the bed of your disabled child, prayed day and night that God would show some mercy on her body, that God would give you some hint of an idea of what to do in the situation you found your self in. Have you ever hooked your child up to a feeding tube and watched a freakin machine feed her for 21.5 hours because her body was not able to gain weight otherwise. Have you ever sat by the phone praying that a donor heart would become available for your child, knowing good and well that with that prayer the death of another child would take place...

Dont you dare talk to me about highly charged emotional anger, you have no idea sir.

Until you are where I have been, where other parents of handicapped children have been, please, sit your self down and hold your HEALTHY family close... we will fight the fight for our children, and while we fight that fight, we are praying that you NEVER find yourself having to fight for one of your own.... it is something no human being should ever have to go thru, but it is something that I am proud to be apart of.

Count yourself blessed Chad Fairbanks, you dont have a stake in this fight
