I am posting this message from Pinellas Park Florida concerning a matter of utmost urgency. At this very moment the state of Florida is committing a crime against humanity. A young woman named Terri Shiavo is being starved to death in Hospice care by order of the Florida courts. Terri suffered massive injuries several years ago which left her in severe physical condition and in need of major therapy. However, her husband has seen to it that Terri had no therapy or medical treatment, making it clear that his only wishes were for Terri to just hurry up and die. (lots of life insurance money involved) When he saw that Terri was going to fight for her life he began proceedings to have her euthanized
The mainstream media has lied about this case from word one saying that Terri is in a comma or a persistent vegetative state when she is actually very responsive to the attention and instructions given to her by others. The media has also stated that Terri is on life support which she is not
.The only way Terri is assisted is by a feeding tube. Her injuries have left her unable to chew or speak because she has been denied any type of rehabilitation. Terris husband is strongly suspected in this case. Nurses and countless others have filed affidavits with Floridas legal system stating that Terris husband is extremely abusive toward her and that he tried to kill her by giving her injections of pure insulin while she lay in the hospital. Yet, no criminal investigation has ever been carried out in this matter
.why? Because Terris husband received nearly one million dollars to pay for Terris rehabilitation, and it is strongly suspected that he owns the judge who is handling this case. On Wednesday Terris husband won his battle to have her murdered, and her feeding tube was removed from her body
She has had no food or liquids since 2 pm wed. I came to Florida to investigate this matter. I just couldnt believe that this could happen in America. But its all true and a helpless Terri Shiavo lies dying a horrible death while her parents and loved ones are kept from her side by armed guards. I have been standing vigil with Terris family for the past two days and I must say that this is the most horrifying thing I have ever witnessed. We need your help to get Terris story out before its too late. She only has a couple of days left. Our group has been in contact with Jeb Bush, who has the power to take executive action and stop this atrocity from occurring in his state. Jeb is obviously more worried about his political career than he is the life of one of his constituents
.Dont let Florida hide Terris story any longer
.Go to her web site www.terrisfight.org and get the facts. You will be alarmed at what you see. Please call president bush, Governor Bush, and any other government officials you can think of, but most of all help us to get the truth out. I have watched reporters from CNN, FOX, WGN, CBS, ABC, and MSNBC interview Terris family. They are filming and reporting the truth but it is never getting past the cutting room floor. Please call your local papers and radio stations
.We must get the truth out or this woman will be dead very soon. No one in Floridas courts or political system will even hear Teris case or her familys cries for justice. I guess its just not good politics to try and do the right thing anymore. Please help
. everything you do can make a difference
If the state of Florida can get away with murdering a helpless woman then the rest of us are fair game
PLEASE HELP. This is REAL and its happening right now.

They are asking for a criminal investigation.
They are ignoring the fact that a doctor has examined and testified in court of Terri's situation, which the court used in its ruling, that she will not recover and is kept alive only by a tube.
More is not quoting any specific laws, just their interpretation of the situation. If you are going to base your stance on that, then have at it.
I still did not see in that paper where they quoted a specific law for the State of Florida that says Jeb can put a feeding tube back in a person who has already been examined by a doctor, decided on by a court and kept by her legal guardian. Life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, yes, but if the doctor and courts ruled not, then it is up to them to reverse it. Not up to Jeb. I will be surprised if the Governor can do anything. Maybe you should sue him. Or get Klayman to sue him.

I understand your point, but I for one am very disillusioned that someone like Jeb Bush does not AT LEAST take the oppurtunity to make a formal press conference where he says something not like, "Hey, there's nothing I can do," but more like:
"My fellow Americans, I am deeply offended and shocked that in our nation today, an innocent American is being deprived of life, via court edict, without due process of law.
"As Governor of Florida, I have exhausted every venue, legally, to circumvent this atrocity. It is immoral and disgraceful, and should not be happening in the United States of America, the self-proclaimed Land of the Free."
--
Unfortunately, he has not taken any steps to forcefully condemn the unspeakable horror of what is happening, so all we are left with is "Hey, there's nothing I can do."

Thanks. I'll read it.
As I posted the other day, I am surprised that her word-of-mouth unsubstantiated report of telling Michael she didn't want to be on life support is allowed to stand. That surprises me. I don't think that would stand if the person is deceased. It didn't in my case.

I agree.

http://www.wtlv.com/news/news-article.aspx?storyid=9362 video interview with neurologist who says Terri is being murdered...
there is a thread on it as well
Felos is connected with the hospice, don't you know that they chose doctors who were of the opinion that 'they wanted' they picked the ones who would agree with them.
Wesley Smith 'Forced Exit'...medical journals are now advocating declaring people such as Terri medically dead to harvest their organs (though no such claim with Terri) they want our innards!!!!!

I hope you understand I am not one who thinks she should be left to starve, if feeding her was keeping her alive. Her parents want to keep her and care for her, then why doesn't Michael release her to them? $.

I absolutely can't believe that word of mouth is standing. I certainly wouldn't want that to happen, need to get something in writing for myself....

Once and for all, people
Jeb Bush has
NO AUTHORITY
in this matter.
////////////
You're right. Jeb is showing that he is utterly lacking in moral authority (or courage).
I despise him.
This is his defining moment -- and, barring a sudden burst of action -- he is going to wring his hands in indecision at the moment of decision.
Choose life.

More is not quoting any specific laws They referenced many specific Florida laws throughout he document.

"If her family wants to see her and have her live that way, then fine they should bare all of the associated medical and care costs themselves. "
They want to do that very thing. The judge won't even allow them in the room as she's dying. He also ordered that no one even attempt to feed her by mouth.

Please explain what legal authority Gov. Bush possesses to take charge of this case.
As has been cited on other threads, Governor Bush has expressed a desire to intervein, but lacks the legal means to do so.
Now if you know of a legal avenue that the Governor or anyone else for that matter can take to step in, please let us know.
This is an atrocity, and none would dare say otherwise. But groundless accusations and attacks on the Governor serve no one.
/////
Have you been READING? Both the Thomas More Law Center and Judicial Watch have provided openings and strategies for Bush to intervene.
He is wringing his hands. Apparently the poll numbers aren't right.
I suspect that he will find out too late that the backlash on this one will be overwhelming.

that Jeb can act on? Or that the courts can act on?
Let me ask this now, looking back:
Why didn't Jeb change the ruling of the Florida Supreme Court during the 2000 election?
You say he is supreme ruler of Florida, right?

I do not understand how and why in America a woman's life and right to life is held in the hands of her husband. How atrocious and appalling to think that wives are still viewed as chattel and slaves, held in bondage by marriage vows. That's not marriage. That is not the vow "...to have and to hold, in sickness and in health."
This is as bad as the Taliban and I thought President Bush liberated Afghanistan and Iraq from depostic rule, whereas in his own country an innocent woman is condemned to die by her husband and a black robed judge willing to sanction her murder. Her only crime: brain damage.

What I find amazing is that freepers insist that Jeb (and possibly George W.) Bush use an executive order to put Terri's feeding tube back in, but screamed like mad when Clinton used executive orders ("stroke of the pen, law of the land, cool," Paul Begala) to circumvent congress.
What's equally amazing is that the Schindlers waited until this late date to demand that Jeb act. They knew years ago the court cases were going against them. Did they go to the state legislature to ask them to pass legislation which said that nutrition/hydration cannot be withheld from any patient without the patient expressing that in writing and witnessed? Jeb surely would've signed the bill, and without a grandfathering in clause, Schiavo wouldn't have been able to do get a court order to remove the feeding tube.
It's all Jeb's fault.

How quickly they have forgotten the risks that Jeb Bush has taken already.
http://www.csmonitor.com/2003/0522/p03s01-uspo.html A silent mother, a fetus, and a state's prerogative
Gov. Jeb Bush's call to name a guardian for a fetus could test the legal definition of when human life begins.
By Alexandra Marks | Staff writer of The Christian Science Monitor
MIAMI A controversial decision by Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has thrust a young Orlando woman known only as J.D.S. into the national debate over abortion. The 22-year-old is severely retarded, unable to speak or care for herself. She was raped while in state care and is now more than five months pregnant.
Earlier this month, Governor Bush announced the state would attempt to have a guardian appointed for the young woman's fetus, a move that was originally opposed by state lawyers because it violates a 1989 Florida Supreme Court ruling.
The Bush move ignited a political firestorm. Antiabortion activists have long advocated recognizing the fetus as a person in their fight to ban the medical procedure. Pro-abortion forces are just as adamant that current law be upheld, so that abortion rights are not eroded.
