President Bush and First Lady, Laura left California yesterday, and arrived at Tokyos Haneda airport (at around 3:00 am, Pacific time), where they were greeted by U.S. Ambassador Howard Baker. The President met with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi for talks on subjects such as international trade and the reconstruction of Iraq. The President and First Lady were dinner guests at the Akasaka State Guest House, where they dined on Japanese steak and Yakatori chicken, sitting on the floor, but were allowed to dangle their legs through a hole in the floor!
Japan is only the first stop in a whirlwind 9 day tour of 6 Asian countries and Australia, and including the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Bangkok, Thailand on Sunday. There are LOTS of pictures, many of which could have been selected as the best, (and which I have tried to assemble in some sort of orderly fashion), so enjoy your Daily Dose of Dubya!!

Cool idea! How about marketing to parents bringing a new baby home? The new grandparents could pay for it, and watch the baby while the new parents ate. Don't know quite how you'd market that . . . but I bet it would get a lot of interest! Keep us updated! Sounds fun.

EdJay.....Hillary makes all women look bad, marriage or not.
But her marriage of political convenience is a horrible example to young women and girls, and her staying with her repeatedly adulterous husband DOES make women look bad........and as a Christian, you should be aware that adultery is a Biblically acceptable reason for leaving a marriage.
You certainly know that their 'marriage' is not a parallel to a marriage where the husband has 'strayed' and the wife has forgiven him and they both try to get the marriage back together.
Your 'marriage for life' post sounds good, but doesn't apply in this case........but I'll bet you know that, don't you?

Sorry, but I disagree...marriages are "torn asunder" when either of the spouses refuses to forsake all others, IMHO. A woman who stays nominally hitched despite repeated dalliances by the husband needn't be honored, especially when its a situation like the HildaBeast's, wherein I believe she stays married out of an unhealthy LustFerPower!! AMEN, MUD!
You said it SOOO much better than I did!
MrOhio knew going into our marriage that I would NEVER tolerate infidelity. (Course, I make sure he never WANTS to stray.........;o)
GOOD to see you and your words of wisdom here, friend!

I've come to one conclusion about those saying awful things about this OBVIOUSLY good man.
It's a spiritual problem. They hate him precisely BECAUSE he is good, and they are in the grasp of the Evil One.
It festers inside of them, and has built up to the point where political differences with him turn into attempted character assassinations.
Fortunately MOST of the American people have seen what's inside him, and know better........and with millions of us praying for him every day, he is being protected from the attacks, and can laugh like a kid when he gets together with a friend.
When I see these pictures, I see the protection and blessing of God in play.

Great comments ohioWfan! There is so much more in their (libs and dems) comments than 'politics.' I've just realized that recently (in part due to FR). 'Good' and 'evil' are definitely at war. And it's not just the country or several countries at war, it truly is the future of humanity. I know GWB sees that, and I think that's why he's so passionate about his beliefs.
That's why he can have fun, too. He is at peace with himself, and with whatever happens. He, and Laura, have true joy, despite any national or international turmoil. Anyone can see that joy when you look at pictures of them, and I think that enrages the Evil One as much as anything.
When the nasty ones attack GWB so unfairly, and without the 'facts' you can see their frustration--the frustration of 'evil' that is being thwarted.

I am thinking of doing a very exclusive catering business.. very romantic, for two to six people, no more than that.. In their homes, with gourmet dinners..wine, flowers and candles, lovely China and so on..
Do you think it would "fly"?
There are too many unknown factors for me to comment on whether it'd work or not. ... That said, with your husband's political contacts, you'd probably have a good place to start as far as garnering "clients." In this area catering depends heavily on referrals. But, the catering with which I'm most familiar is for wedding dinners. (I've only "catered" one such dinner. Mom, one of my sisters, a niece, and I made the food for my daughter's wedding. Mom and I did most of the pre-prep work. Casual buffet. Borrowed some roasters. That sort of thing.)
Catering, even for small functions, is demanding. I have a gazillion ideas for menus that would be fun to prepare, but my energy levels (and pain "events") are too unpredictable to contemplate actually doing anything like that myself. ... I could never handle doing my daughter's wedding if it were taking place now. As it was then (10 years ago), I had to skip most other mother-daughter wedding moments to make it work. I didn't even go shopping with her when she picked out her dress....
I'm a big fan of what I know as the "Ben Franklin Method" when it comes to reaching decisions. It involves making two lists: the "pro" side and the "con." ... Start writing down all of your ideas -- both "for" and "against." That might help with your decision.
Digressing: If you're online now, you mentioned sometime last night that you're interested in Southern cooking. Paula Dean's "Paula's Home Cooking" show is on FoodTV right now. Today's menu:
Baked Bass with Romano Cheese
Corny Cornbread
Spinach, Strawberry, and Hearts of Palm Salad
Double Chocolate Gooey Butter Cakes

"...as a Christian, you should be aware that adultery is a Biblically acceptable reason for leaving a marriage."
Sometimes I think the literal Bible "scholars" believe that the admonition for husbands to leave a wife guilty of "fornication" doesn't apply vice versa. (Gosh! "Vice" versa almost makes that one a pun. LOL)

I heard on the news that Air Force One was escorted by two F-15's to the Philipines. It said the escorts were so close that those on AF1 could see the pilot's faces. What a feeling THAT would be!
Keep praying for their safety! I am!

"MrOhio knew going into our marriage that I would NEVER tolerate infidelity" Yep, if I ever strayed I know I'd be restricted to visitin' the young'uns on weekends faster than you can say "Lecherous Scumbag!!" The potential costs are so much greater than any temporary animalistic satisfaction gained that it ain't even a consideration. Plus, the Missuz still gits me all a'twitter...LOL!!

Christ was revolutionary in many ways. (Telling -- not suggesting! -- his followers that a man should "love your wife as yourself" and therefore consider her an "equal" still hasn't sunk in with those who practice that "religion of peace." ... I get so frustrated by those who prefer to give the impression that our country has the franchise on sexist men -- or slavery, for that matter, too! Lack of a historical perspective, or the desire to obtain one if it's going to shatter the myths you prefer to believe, makes a difference.)
Of course, I should be careful where I place my "scare quotes" or else I could be accused of "casting the first stone." ;)
