FREEP JEB BUSH for TERRI SCHINDLER-SCHIAVO
http://www.Terrisfight.org | Friday, 10-17-03 | floriduh voter

Posted on 10/17/2003 2:59:38 PM PDT by freeparoundtheclock

FREEPERS, I have taken a break from Terri's 24/7 Vigil to ask for your participation in the next phase of trying to save Terri's life while we wait for good news.

I have not received the Governor's Itinerary for the following week yet from myflorida.com.

We are asking Floridians and out-of-staters to freep the Governor's Mansion in Tallahassee.

If you need ideas for signs, it's basically urging Governor Bush to issue an executive order to stay Terri's starvation.

At this time, the Florida Supremes are reviewing filings today by Terri's counsel.

We need northern Florida to freep Jeb Bush STAT whether he's there or not.

Finally, if anyone receives Jeb's schedule in their e-newsletter, please post it here so we can hold Terri vigils in whatever town Jeb is in.

Sorry, I can't be more informative at this time. I'm sunburn and tired and this request has come from Terri's team. Thank you in advance. Floriduh Voter

And where, in there duties, does it tell them they have the legal standing to ignore court orders that they find immoral? Wanna open THAT can of worms? "Well, the laws xxx, and the courts have determined it means xxx, and I don't agree, so I'm gonna ignore it" leads to a destruction of our constitutional republic piece by piece, until all we are left with is tyranny.

Be VERY VERY careful what arguments you advance to solve this tragic situation...

When they atart going on about overturning cars, rioting and stuff like that it goes waaaaaaay too far. I hope you understand my perspective :)

I do not understand at all.

How is overtuning cars relevant?

Maybe all you know of direct action is what you see on TV, mostly after pro sports teams winning a championship. Correct me if I am wrong.

Let me try this from another angle - In the 18th century would you have supported or opposed the Boston Tea Party?

Their oath of office. An act ultra vires is void on it's face. No court can order someone to violate the law.

"Jim Crow"? Now you are really reaching. The concept of "Seperate but equal" that the Supremem Court ruled on is in no way comparable to this situation...

I probably know more about Direct Action than most people do, but I'm not going to get into that, because it's a long topic and likely to get posts pulled ;0)

you just need to go back and read through this threat, and other threads on this subject, and note how many people have actually come right out and advocated "riots", "We need to overturn cars and riot" and the like. Did you think I just pulled that stuff out of my ass? No. I got every one from this thread and others like it.

Now you are really retching. To claim that this case is not even MORE important than racial segragation is to display an amazing ignorance of legal and moral principles. Seperate but equal was bad, but not deadly. This is deadly.

Fine. Good. I can agree with that. However, now the question remains - who decides that the order is void?

The Chief Magistrate in this case. Gov. Bush or President Bush.

I never said "more important" or anything like it. I just said they are not comparable. You just said so yourself, in fact - and I quote, "Seperate but equal was bad, but not deadly. This is deadly. "

We are pretty much in agreement - are you just arguing for the fun of it, or wahat? ;0)

Ok. Now, what gives them the authority to do so - I'd like, actually, to see some examples of relevent case law to back this up, as I find it an avenue worth approaching, and want to make sure we are on both moral and legal standing :0)

Their authority is inherent in their office and their oath.

And to answer this question, I'd have to say I wouldn't have cared less about the Boston Tea Party - my people were siding with the British during that period. I guess we figured a White American Government would be no different than a White British government ;0)

The 14th Amendment has been so overused by 'conservatives' and liberals alike as this cover all excuses it's not funny. Should be overturned anyway. It's not violating her civil rights. This is attempted murder. A state issue

Well, I know they take oaths to protect and defend the constitution... so that may be applicable, provided their actions are in line with it :0)

Bingo. You nailed it. A state issue, to be resolved by the state, and if the state supreme court doesn't rule correctly, her blood is on their hands. Period.

I'm VERY nervous about using the 14th Amendment in this case...

"... I know they take oaths to protect and defend the constitution..."

Partly right. They swear to defend the constitution and see that the laws of the state are executed faithfuly.

Well that writes you out for being a 'conservative' now doesn't it? Sheesh, I've never seen so many willing to call down the national government at every injustice, inaction, or travesty of justice because they feel it is right in this case. However, the precedent it would set for an even more liberal administration is just too dangerous to imagine

Civil rights are being violated. She is a disabled women. Her husband is conspiring to have her starved to death. That IS a violation of her rights and of the law. Both Bush boys have a legal cause to intervene.

I'm gonna ignore it" leads to a destruction of our constitutional republic piece by piece,

Uh, in case you did not notice it, the constitutional republic was destroyed many years ago.

You are now living in a democracy with an overtone of judical fiat, for spice.

Get my drift?
