I would never have known from the ads on TV, but the WSJ tells me that this movie is about evil Gun Manufacturers trying to subvert our judicial system. Fortunately, Liberal defense attorney Dustin Hoffman may be able to save the day and advance the cause of Gun Control.
Think I'll watch something else ...

Been doin' that for years. These jerks don't deserve one penny of my money!

This will be hard for me to boycott. Based on the marketing and hype, I think this movie will do well.

It's an extremely rare movie that gets my time or attention--and rarer still that gets my money--partly because of Hollywood's anti-Americanism but mostly because most movies are mind-numbingly boring.

The original book was about big, evil tobacco companies but the producers decided that had already been done (see "The Insider") so they switched it to big, evil gun manufacturers. I'm guessing the sequels (if anybody pays money to see this wretch) will be about big, evil oil companies and big, evil HMOs.

It's even worse when you consider that the novel, by John Grisham, was about a tobacco company lawsuit.
They deliberately changed it. Funny, how that happened as the issue of gun manufacturer lawsuit immunity is just now coming up for a vote.

It's getting harder and harder to tell Cusack and Spacey apart. And yes, I mean that in every way.

My brother was the production designer on this movie. We don't discuss politics much at family reunions.

What is it about people with money always assuming what they think is worth hearing?

He's just mad that there won't be as much gay porn available to him once the justice department starts cracking down.

yet another movie i wont see, and an actor who will not get my money.

What is it about people with money always assuming what they think is worth hearing? I'm reading a wonderful book called "Seriously Funny" about the comedians of the 1950s and 1960s. There's a chapter on Bob Newhart that is quite refreshing. He just comes right out and basically says, "Why would anyone want to hear me discuss politics? Who am I? It's just not my place to tell people my views."

On a related note, it looks like Mystic River (Ink Penn & Mr. Sarandon) is sucking serious wind. Box Office Mojo has them at just over $2 million dollars for the first week.
