The original book was about big, evil tobacco companies but the producers decided that had already been done (see "The Insider") so they switched it to big, evil gun manufacturers. I'm guessing the sequels (if anybody pays money to see this wretch) will be about big, evil oil companies and big, evil HMOs.

Or baseball teams with a high payroll. Or evil white, male, racist, drug-abusing sportscasters. Or groping Republican gubernatorial candidates. Or election-stealing Republican Presidential candidates.

Heaven forbid a movie is ever made that portrays minorities or liberals as the bad guys. Any that do usually have another minority or liberal as the good guy, or have a white male as the bad guy's partner.

Is there a list of movies with neutral politics, or a pro-conservative slant? I don't have a problem seeing certain movies with well-known liberal activists as long as the movie is not trying to shove liberalism down my throat. For example, The Shawshank Redemption is a wonderful movie, despite Tim Robbins. (Yeah, it portrays convicts too sympathetically, but overall it has some great themes about hope and endurance). Contrast that with the movie Arlington Road, in which Tim Robbins plays a wacko right-wing nut job who frames a decent man for a terrorist attack. I made the mistake of renting that one. It would have been a decent thriller if it didn't have the 'approved by Michael Moore' feel about it.

Thanks for the heads-up.
I will not be seeing this garbage.

Frankly, I'm a little surprised Gene Hackman would be a part of this kind of political smut.
