Post responses on this thread. Do or die for the Marlins. Break the Curse and Go to the Series or sink into ignominy for yet another year for the Cubbies.
Which will it be? Quien es mas macho?

And you don't understand just how many people FLEW from Chicago (Midway OR O'Hare) to come see the Cubs play the Marlins in Miami. The word on the street here was that there were NO flights left and that the Marlins organization stopped selling and/or refused to sell tickets to anyone whose credit card number was linked to an Illinois address.

Good for the Cub and Sox fan. I really do believe that they have got to be one of the best in sport. I already explained what I thought happened to the Marlins fan. Wayne almost extinguished them starting with me.

Wow !..........50 inch ? ........I will try and do that ! I need to go to another game at Wrigley Field too before they decide to tear that park down. THAT will never happen. The park is probably listed with that National Historic Registry (or whatever it's called). And the Cubs fans WOULD riot if that ever happened. Trust me on that one ;-). I'd be leading the pack myself!!!!!! (very big grin)

Tom please stop typing around the point. I post many things and if a cut and past url is wrong just tell me what it was. I check everything twice before I post how about a clue.

Kewl....when I was a pup my Dad had us move to Paw Paw Michigan while he built a nuke power plant called Palisades on the East side of Lake Michigan.
We regularly were either at a Cub's Bear's , Tigers or Lions game as we were pretty much halfway between Detroit & Chicago. Loved to "visit" Chicago.........:o)

Well at least you have Donovan McNabb...the best quarterback in the NFL!!!No sarcasm tag required, obviously.
Right now, he's the absolute worst QB in football, by a mile.

You still have not acknowledged my (much earlier) question. Did you make post#875. Why is so dificult for your to answer? That's what I want to know. Stop beating around the bush.

I'll be out at ND for the USC game and was looking forward to watching the Cubs in game 1 of The World Series at some gin mill in Chicago on Saturday night. (I should've known better.)
Did they really need to mention his school? We sure could have done without this publicity

I wish I would've saw the link yesterday; they're already onto today's sad story. Was it the shot from the first-base photographer's pit that everyone else has, or was it a new shot that was along the foul line?
The key, at least from the umpiring standpoint, is where everything was in relation to the wall. If the hand and ball were on the stands side, it was merely a very stupid move on the part of the guy. If they were on the field side, it is by definition fan interference, with the "penalty" left up to the umpire. Based on Alou's positioning to make a catch, and the example given in the MLB rulebook, it should have been ruled an out in that case.
Damn the curse anyhow.

What should scare him is that Hillary used to claim she was a Cubs fan. People who cross Hillary don't end up feeling so good.

Actually, I'm in Oak Lawn on da sout' side (which is a little bit of heaven in its own right) and my football team is the Cleveland Browns who, now that you mention it, aren't much better than da Bears but in a weaker division.
And I meant that I had to wake up at 4:00 which was getting close, sleep-wise.
To: discostu
Sorry, but I would have to disagree. Too many Cub fans where I live. Reading the Chicago paper, they have the same story. Granted, there are some who are understanding of the facts of the game that the fan was not responsible, that he was in fan territory, etc., but I think it is more than a few who blame the guy.
Have a nice one, disc!

It was taken from about 30-50 degrees from vertical in the direction toward home plate and about 10-15% clockwise from the wall. I saved it as a jpeg but I don't have any way of linking to it.

Imagine being a Cleveland sports fan. The last major sports championship in Cleveland was the '64 Browns (when I was seven years old)! To be honest, I don't even remember it.
Indians, Cavs, Browns, nearly 40 years without a championship and counting. As I approach 50, I'm just hoping to see a victory parade down Euclid Avenue before I croak!
