Final Score: Cubs 6, Marlins 9 [Live Thread, NLCS Game 7]
Fox Sports ^ | October 15, 2003 | Section9

Post responses on this thread. Do or die for the Marlins. Break the Curse and Go to the Series or sink into ignominy for yet another year for the Cubbies.

Which will it be? Quien es mas macho?

Remember, Obey the Billygoat.....

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Cubbie fans react to yesterday's collapse
"There was just this excitement and then just this, 'Oh no, the curse.' You think, 'Oh, are we doomed? Are we doomed?' It was awful. Just awful," said Heather Behanna, Cubs fan.

Yesterday Billy Goat Tavern owner walked a goat in Wrigley Field, hoping to lift the curse. Sam's late uncle Billy imposed the curse after the Cubs wouldn't let Billy's goat into Wrigley Field during the Cub's 1945 playoffs.

"I've seen this movie before," said Torey Stern, 39, of Chicago. "I saw it in '84 with the Padres, 'in 89 with the Giants and in '98 with the Braves. The movie ends the same."

My only interest here is in getting the first World Series I can give a crap about in a long, long time. But I think I can feel a little bit of what it must be to be a Cubs fan. And man does it suck.

Just a game. A boring game at that.

Boredom is a personal defect, not an attribute of the game you engaged in discussing.

Yeah, but the Mariners have only about 3 decades of history compared to the Cubbies whose "franchise" is a CENTURY PLUS 3 DECADES old. ;-) We have VERY long memories around here!!!

That was the game where Livan Hernandez got the huge strike zone, I think. He had 15 K's in one of the games, maybe game 7.
