"Just following orders" is not a legal excuse even in the military to stand by and watch an atrocity, like in Germany, take place.

Bingo.

When I was in Berlin in 1996 I happened across the "Chamber of Horrors", an underground torture facility buried a stone's throw from a main berlin municipal building. It had just recently been discovered. There was a small group of young German military folk being led through by an officer and all looked very grim. Another officer I spoke to said they march new recruits through the place to illustrate the danger in blindly "following orders."

Won't it be horribly ironic if this starvation led to a severe potassium deficiency and she dies of a heart attack, just as happened before? My God, this is so incredibly sad I can't bear it.

We must PRAY for God to intervene and we must also know that if we do not start to act as boldly as our beliefs, we will be on the receiving in of G-d's mighty wrath and judgement.

As I recall God caused the Jews to wonder in the desert until every coward that refused to fight had died.

And of course the cop guarding her room so as to prevent her parents being with her when she dies is "just following orders."

Yep. Just like the one who actually removed the feeding tube. I wonder how they'll sleep tonight.

Her poor parents must be going through an unimaginable hell right now. This case is infuriating. Something must be done immediatly to reinsert the feeeding tube! What, I don't know. Where is Jeb?

Hopefully her "husband" will not live long following her death.

After spending 13 years at her comatos bed-side, don't you think it is time?

I truly believe the woman would want her husband and family to move on.

If I was laying their, that is what I would want.

How long would you allow the hospital and government to keep her body alive? 20 yrs? 40 yrs? 60 yrs?

From Terri's website:

October 15, 2003 is the day the courts have ordered the withholding of nutrition and hydration from Terri Schiavo. It is also the Feast of St. Teresa - Terri's name-sake.
In a desperate effort to get the attention of someone who could stop this court-sanctioned death, the Schindler family has released a video of Terri that they took some 24 months ago, showing Terri laughing with her mother.

Because of this, Mr. Schiavo's attorneys have ordered that Terri may no longer have visitors. Not even her mother and father are allowed to see her or to even say goodbye to her.

If this was my daughter, I would be AT that hospital discharging my daughter.

I'm sick of the media spin on the whole thing, and the blatant lack of coverage.....

I've been switching channels trying to find coverage of this story but can find nothing. It's always Kobe, Kobe, Kobe. I'm sick to death of Kobe Bryant.

This smacks of Nazi-ism.

It does indeed!

Bed-side? Have you read any of the stories about this creep?

That aside, her family has offered to take care of her and he would not be burdened.

I heard some speculation on talke radio that it could be arranged for Terri to get divorced, then she is under the care of her parents. Maybe there is some hope and that is being worked out.

I want the names of those who actually took the tube out. They are gutless evil people that need to be run out of any medical profession they are in.

She could have an nasogastric tube put in, in seconds if so ordered and still receive her nourishment. It goes in through her nose and is not as comfortable.
She can also receive nutition through a peripheral route such as an IV, although she probably could not receive enough calories to sustain her long term.

I'm currently listening to Glen Beck talking to a FLA paramedic who transported Terri for 20 min and feels she should receive an injection to put her out of her misery. God help you poor people in Florida

I feel that this case will really come back to haunt us. Poor Terri, may our prayers be answered.

You obviously know nothing about this case or you would not have written that.

ITS NOT TOO LATE. THE FEEDING TUBE CAN BE REINSERTED. PRAY AND CONTINUE TO WORK LIKE HELL. DO NOT GIVE UP. THIS INSANITY CAN NOT STAND. THIS POOR DEFENSELESS GIRL IS BEING MURDERED JUST AS SURELY AS IF SHE WERE POISONED.THE STATE MUST STEP IN. IT IS NOT TOO LATE. KEEP WORKING, AND PRAY.

Pray? The State? Keep working?

The state has made its decision. They have sanctioned murder. The legal channels are now blocked, and Jeb Bush will do nothing to stop it. There is, unfortunately, nothing to work for, and noone to pray to.
