Bill Press is an idiot. There are LAWS against people starving their pets or animals. I guess it's OK now to do it to humans.
FOX is reporting "a comatose woman is BEING ALLOWED to die"...

We failed to save Elian. We are failing to save Terri....We are losing the Ten Commandments, and in a day or two the words "under G-d" from our pledge. We must NOT loste faith. We must PRAY for God to intervene and we must also know that if we do not start to act as boldly as our beliefs, we will be on the receiving in of G-d's mighty wrath and judgement.
How can anyone that believes in Our Creator have the ability to deny someone's right to live? May G-d have mercy on us all.

ITS NOT TOO LATE. THE FEEDING TUBE CAN BE REINSERTED. PRAY AND CONTINUE TO WORK LIKE HELL. DO NOT GIVE UP. THIS INSANITY CAN NOT STAND. THIS POOR DEFENSELESS GIRL IS BEING MURDERED JUST AS SURELY AS IF SHE WERE POISONED.THE STATE MUST STEP IN. IT IS NOT TOO LATE. KEEP WORKING, AND PRAY.

It's more that sad, it is a landmark. When people can be killed because one person wants them dead, what is to stop the 21st century version of Cyklon B and gas ovens? Answer: Not one damn thing.
And of course the cop guarding her room so as to prevent her parents being with her when she dies is "just following orders."
If he has a wife and kids they should be ordered to witness her death so they can see how daddy "serves and protects."
Sorry, I generally have the greatest of respect for LE officers...but I'm just livid at this.
I wonder how those brave officers would respond to swarm of people storming the hospice to secure her and remove her to safety. Would they use deadly force against women, kids and old people? This whole situation is simply nauseating.

If the Associated Press headline writer had read the story properly, he wouldn't have used the "c" word.
Or, more likely, he is one of the 'right to die' zealots who doesn't know the difference between killing someone and letting a dying person (which Terri wasn't) die.

Heck with the tube. Is she sedated? Can her parents still enter the hospital? She CAN eat and drink, she has been conditioned not to. How can we get her to eat and drink? This removes the power her husband has over her.

"Just following orders" is not a legal excuse even in the military to stand by and watch an atrocity, like in Germany, take place. Rules must be broken and then righted to protect the sancity of human life, nomatter how we puzzle of the meaning of some existance.

Evil. Thank you. Words mean thing... this isn't sad, or sick, or tragic ... It is deliberately torturing a helpless woman to death, with the full consent and blessing of the government.
Evil.
To: Calpernia
It seems to me that by sedating her they are tacitly acknowledging that she may well suffer, right? If this is supposed to be peaceful, painless and without suffering, why is there a need for sedation?
Am I missing something? If she's "vegetative" and "unable to respond to stimuli", then why do they need to sedate her? Wouldn't sedation only make sense if she was aware and able to respond to the stimulus of starvation, i.e., severe cramping, stomach pain, muscle contractions and so on?

How many Freepers can get to this hospital and start mobilizing more and more to pray and SING!!!! Can there be forces mobilized that can and WILL NOT be ignored? What can we do? What does Our Father want for us to do (in addition to prayer).
Pray also for Terri's family and her incredible parents.

Sam Donaldson was disgusting this morning. Caller after caller saying "well if the Doctors say she's better off dead, then I guess it's for the best." Sam better watch it... he's kind of getting up there himself. He's just s atroke away from his own euthanazia.

"...feeding tube keeping a severely brain-damaged woman alive..." That's like saying that my refrigerator, from which I obtain food, is keeping me alive.

We all must pray for Terri to have the will to fight and eat.
This fight is not over. Pray. Pray hard.

People like Michael Schivao often live into their nineties. He may have paid off this judge, or at the very least, fooled him. But he seems to be unaware that another Judge awaits him who cannot be bribed or fooled. We may not see the justice, but MS will.
