Her so-called husband wouldn't allow a Monsignor to give her last rites.

"We saved jackrabbits at Miami airport from execution. Why can't we save a human being in Florida?"Are you suggesting the an environmental study of her should be required to make sure that there are no endangered species inhabiting her? That could slow this down years.

Prayer bumps for Terri and her family...present husband excluded.
Watching the video shows that Terri is "in there" somewhere...her responses...her attempts to smile and communicate...her eyes when she looked at ther mother...this is outragous.

"I thought Sean was going to cry".Me too, Lanza. Lis Wiehl, Fox news legal analyst, put on her usual happy face whilst describing the technical legalities. Motives, Lanza? Money and politics. They won't let Jeb win this one...
"This is absolutely heartbreaking" she said to Sean.
Sean said "the court has decided this woman is going to die a horrible death".
Liz replies "A horrible death by starvation"..
I loathe our legal system.

"The missing cerebral cortex allegation interests me, but the author seems afraid to solicit contrary medical opinion, and I wonder why." It seems as if this would be easily verifiable with the use of MRI and CT scans. I would think a rather elaborate conclusion could be drawn based on PET scan results, but I do not know to what extent the husband even allowed such testing to take place or if results of any of these tests have been offered into evidence.
Not that I think it would make any difference as to the flawed judgement in the case. Judges are playing God and they are out of bounds. Consider this: if we are known to use only 10% of our brains, don't you think that it is possible when there is damage to one part of the brain that there might be some natural, built-in way for another part to compensate to some extent?

Well, "Judge" Greer does have poor eyesight. He was appointed by clintoid Governor Lawton Chiles, but Greer is also friendly with some Pinellas Co. Republicans, such as Rep. Mike Bilirakis, R-FL (a conservative with ties to the hospice) and a Sheriff Everett Lee (I think is the name). We were never able to confirm Greer's party affiliation but presume he is clintoid.

Not much, sweetliberty, but I am not done fighting - or praying.

Being prolife and in office is not profitable. Monetarily or otherwise. So it seems.

Sean said "the court has decided this woman is going to die a horrible death". Liz replies "A horrible death by starvation".. And they both repeated incorrect info, that she will be dead in 14 days.
No way, if water is also being withheld, which I suspect.
In that case, she's dead in 3 days.

"But she said something I had not heard elsewhere, that there is a Florida statute that states that food cannot be withheld from a disabled adult."If so, I hope someone is moving on it too and would ALSO like to know if Greer will be held accountable for "overlooking" this statute by the voters of not the Judicial Advisory and Review Board.

It sounds like the law according to Schiavo does not recognize this FL statute. Is Schiavo some kind of legal potentate in FL?
To: Theodore R.
The answer to that is to boycott Chris Matthews How does that help this woman, who has now had basic nutrition witheld for 8 hours?
What needs to happen is for some Florida men with a full set of balls to make the effort to get her ass out of the death chamber.
Are there any Freepers in the city where where this death camp is?
Please report.
America has become a nation of good Germans.

Yes, the brain does compensate. My niece was born with menengitis. She had severe loss of brain tissue in the left frontal lobe. Basically, it is gone. We were told by prominent neurologists that she would never speak or if she did she would not speak properly. She is almost 4 now and carries on adult like conversations. She is extremely artistic as well. Her primary neurologists calls her a miracle saying that if he didn't know for a fact that her MRI's were hers he would never believe that he was looking at the same child who came to him so ill as an infant.

Hey Spec!
You can imagine how bothered I am about what Terri and her parents are enduring.
This is just so wrong.
I am hoping for a miracle. What would happen if Terri screamed "feed me?" Would the hospice staff be required legally adn ethically to accomodate her?

In other words, to finish what I just posted, Terri will be dead by this Saturday, if they are also withholding hydration...

"Consider this: if we are known to use only 10% of our brains, don't you think that it is possible when there is damage to one part of the brain that there might be some natural, built-in way for another part to compensate to some extent?"It's a medical fact that other, undamaged parts of the brain can take over the duties of the damaged portions. There have been some rather STARTLING cases of encephelitis patients doing just that. Living and finctioning with only half a brain.

Is Schiavo some kind of legal potentate in FL? Very doubtful.
To: Lanza
It would be wonderful if she did. Yes, they would be legally and ethically bound to feed her as she would be displaying awareness of her situation and demanding treatment. At least I would think so.
