RED SOX/YANKEES GAME 4 ALCS BASEBALL - Red Sox Win 3-2

Ok, rain's gone away and it's a beautiful fall evening here in Boston. I've never post anything on FR, so I apoligize in advance if I'm doing it wrong. I don't know anything about pinging or anything like that. Hope the usual suspects find this.
I hope we can move the discussion back to baseball. I'm so tired of Pedro, Manny, Zim, Garcia and the bullpen guy. I think the players have at least temporarily put all incidents aside and will return to playing the game without the extra theatrics.
With that in mind, let me say this: the idea that all Sox fans are English soccer hooligans is as false as saying all conversatives are racists. Most Red Sox fans are extremely passionate about baseball and most of us have Yankee fans as friends, neighbors, co-workers, and even spouses. The media potrayals I've seen in some cases have grossly exaggerated the truth about Boston fans. Yes, we want to win - just ONE DAMN TIME before we all die. Yes, there are a few jerks who get out of hand. But that can be found at Yankee stadium, Wrigley Field, or just about any professional sports event (except Expos games, let's face it no one is even there to fight). At the end of the day, whether the Sox are in the playoffs or 25 games out, it's all about cracking a beer, having a hotdog and enjoying life.
Play ball!

The sox are acting stupid...Having had a boatload of talent for 85 years and not grabbing the Golden Ring is the very definition of stupidity.

In a word, NO!

Do you know how many times I've seen the Sox do that this year? Hit and run that turns into a strikeout double play. They do it everytime and it always seems that the very next batter smacks a base hit - but by then, it's usually too late.

Yep, I kept reading today that Mussina's better on 4 days rest than 5 (or more), and it's turning out to be the case (so far).

Those boys can't run. Did anyone on the Red Sox steal a base this year?
Did anyone ever go from 1st to 3rd on a single?

Yeah, but I guess every team needs a signature play that defines them. FOr them, unfortunately, that is theirs...

Someone on Boston radio had a great idea: Throw out McCarver let Jerry Remy (Red Sox color guy) do color for the Fenway games, and whoever the Yankees guy is do the games in NY. That is a good idea. Heck, I wouldn't mind hearing one Yankee announcer, and one Red Sox announcer on together for the national broadcast. It would certainly add more interest than McCarver and Buck.

I had a girlfriend who got so nervous before obligatory third date she dropped acid. Talk about intense.
Oh man! 15 years later and I can still visualize that night!
Hot little Irish redhead with freckles and a page haircut. Five three in heels, purple lipstick and round steel rimmed glasses. Big time Cubs fan, BTW.
There are two women, and two nights that stand out in my mind, that third date with Lili...oh, man.
Back to the game.

Just SHUT UP McCarver. Quiet! Is it just me, or do TV announcers yak a lot more than they did 15 years ago? I don't remember Vin Scully feeling the need to fill dead air so compulsively.

He's only gotta go 6. And he's already half way there.
Good at bat by BW, fights one off for a bingle to center.

Damon had 30 steals in 2003.

Remy and Sterling would be great!

The Red Sox never had much speed. It's a product of playing in a small park.

Don't understand why. They don't have many power hitters.

But Vin Scully is perhaps the best announcer of all time ....in any sport.
Although Chick Hearn (RIP) is close.
