RED SOX/YANKEES GAME 4 ALCS BASEBALL - Red Sox Win 3-2
Me

Ok, rain's gone away and it's a beautiful fall evening here in Boston. I've never post anything on FR, so I apoligize in advance if I'm doing it wrong. I don't know anything about pinging or anything like that. Hope the usual suspects find this.
I hope we can move the discussion back to baseball. I'm so tired of Pedro, Manny, Zim, Garcia and the bullpen guy. I think the players have at least temporarily put all incidents aside and will return to playing the game without the extra theatrics.
With that in mind, let me say this: the idea that all Sox fans are English soccer hooligans is as false as saying all conversatives are racists. Most Red Sox fans are extremely passionate about baseball and most of us have Yankee fans as friends, neighbors, co-workers, and even spouses. The media potrayals I've seen in some cases have grossly exaggerated the truth about Boston fans. Yes, we want to win - just ONE DAMN TIME before we all die. Yes, there are a few jerks who get out of hand. But that can be found at Yankee stadium, Wrigley Field, or just about any professional sports event (except Expos games, let's face it no one is even there to fight). At the end of the day, whether the Sox are in the playoffs or 25 games out, it's all about cracking a beer, having a hotdog and enjoying life.
Play ball!

I'll bite.
I'm a Yankee fan who thinks Wakefield will win this game.
I don't like Mussina's chances, and Wakefield has pitched well against the Yanks.
There, that's all there is to say.

Funny. Matsui getting plunked by a 60 mph knuckleball?Matsui would jog to first. Zim's on a leash.
Heard Zelig put the Boston ownership on notice. Children behave on both sides.

Or he catches it and hits it "out of hand" into the bullpen. Does that count?

Mussina hasn't won a start for a while.
Not a good sign. I've a feel this game will go well for the Sox.

imagine that meeting.
"Now gentlemen, the coaching staff shall refrain from bull rushing players for the rest of the series. Overpaid whiny outfielders will not take offense at pitches withing 2 feet of their head. Thug Relievers shall not start fights with the ground staff...
To: mikemc282002
Matsui wouldn't do that. However, Giambi would.
Actually, no. Wakefield makes Giambi look stupid an awful lot.

Playing the game on PS2 as we speak, Wakefield's getting shelled. Mussina: 2 runs, 3 hits, no walks.

What is one to do when one doesn't want either team to win??? I've always been a Yankee hater. All of my 72 years.
After living for some years in Massachusetts I also became a Red Sox hater. What is one to do, other than root for the Cubs?
A pox on both of their houses.
