[history]
LAKEVILLE, Conn. -- The smell of burnt rubber filled Lime Rock Park on a brilliant fall day this weekend as three dozen stock cars thundered around the track hitting speeds of 140 mph along the straightaways. On the grassy hills overlooking the track some 15,000 to 18,000 fans, mostly middle-aged white men with their sons in tow, spread out in canvas sport chairs with coolers at their sides, their minds on racing and most certainly not on politics.

I just had a hilarious vision of the next 'rat debate with all the candidates showing up wearing NASCAR rally hats.

I'd rather go to jail and become a political prisoner than vote Democrat... their evil philosophy is about destruction rather than construction.

"A lot of their tax plans always seem to benefit rich people and don't seem to help the working class or middle class." I guess I shouldnt expect "NASCAR dads" to understand simple math then.

This coming weekend, the DLC is hosting a conference in Atlanta dubbed "God, Guns and Guts: Seizing the Cultural Center," where Democrats will strategize LOL.
To: Willie Green
Yeah, I can see LiveShot Kerry settin' down for a good race at Charlotte on a Friday night, sharing beer and daintily holding a couple hot dogs in his hands, most likely fearing it will ruin that manicure, wondering when all that damn noise will end.

the DLC is hosting a conference in Atlanta dubbed "God, Guns and Guts: Seizing the Cultural Center," where Democrats will strategize about how to be more savvy in handling key issues It'll never work. Because with "God, Guns and Guts" they only believe in outlawing all three.
To be for any of those 3 things, would be sacrificing the DemonRat Ideals, and therefore becoming a Republican.

The rats COULD make a case that they were legitimately trying to find voters among NASCAR Dads but; I don't buy it.
I think the elite snobbery of the rats is at work here. I think they think they can fool these guys, because after all, "Only dummies watch NASCAR events and dummies are easy to dupe." Bet on it!

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amusing that a pollster named Winston is asking people about Bush at a Busch series Winston cup race?
...probably just me.
It's Monday...be gentle.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

Have the Dem's lost their minds? I guess they have. NASCAR dads might expect the Dems to slap their ads on a Yugo with a wind up spring. Can't burn gas that would cause global warming you know...

Thanks for the ping. If Graham was the trial balloon, they are doomed.

Larry J. Sabato, director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia, believe the whole concept of NASCAR dads as a swing group is a "silly" invention of pollsters and that Democratic candidates are going to have a tough time attracting their votes in any case.If a pollster told the 'rats that cross dressing would work they would put on a mini-skirt, high heels and lipstick and take a parade lap at Daytona...

Well the Dems appeal to constituents by offering them a big teat upon which to latch.
Dependency hasn't much appeal to NASCAR dads. If they are going to latch on to something it is not for nourishment.
