Kerry says:

Did any of you notice the question about prescription drugs and how John Edwards answered it? This lady asked a question about PD which was basically phrased like "how are you going to show that you empathize with me?" John Edwards asked her how much she pays for her PD. She answered that NOW, she is on a Pfizer program and her drugs only cost her $51.00 a month, but that she USED TO pay over $400 a month. Edwards said "...and that's just killing you, isn't it?" or something to that effect, totally ignoring the fact that she said (1) she only pays $51.00 a month, and (2) the fact that it was a drug-company program that saved her $350.00 a month on her drugs. Edwards even talked about the drug companies gouging consumers in his answer. It sounded to me like, in this particular case at least, the drug company was HELPING the consumer, not gouging her.

That was as bad as the answer Gephardt gave to the lady with the restaurant who complained about her taxes being too high, and what was his response, to say he would eliminate the very tax cuts that applied to her! You just know he made a Republican voter with his answer, you could see it on her face. The zeal thay all showed for pandering on specific issues completely blinded them to the actual questions asked of them to the point where anybody with half a brain could see their thirst for total control.
