Marjorie Taylor Greene Floats Bill to End H-1B Visas
Newsweek ^ | Nov 13, 2025 | Anna Commander

Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has introduced a new bill to "END the mass replacement of American workers" by ultimately phasing out the H-1B visa program.

The move by Greene to introduce legislation aimed at ending the H-1B visa program signifies an intensifying split within the Republican Party over immigration and U.S. labor policy. The debate puts a spotlight on differing visions for the future of America's workforce, U.S. competitiveness in global technology and research sectors, and the policies that shape immigration and employment.

It also brings to the forefront the challenges President Donald Trump faces as he seeks to balance economic pragmatism with the “America First” sentiments of his political base.

She’s nuts. I’m done with this sort of reactionary crap. I think Trump is too.

Densify (verb): To make something denser or more compact.

Not to be confused with 'Odensify' which is to acquire the characteristics of the residents of Odense, Denmark. For ex, when you move to Odense and stay there a certain number of years you become Odensified.

“U.S. competitiveness in global technology and research sectors”

No one’s “competitiveness” is enhanced by importing people from Third World crapholes that never got past eating rice with their hands in 8000 years of human development since the last Ice Age.

Republicans could have done something about this a long time ago when they actually had solid majorities in both Houses of Congress, but like necessary immigration reform, and election reform after the 2000 election that was thrown to the Supreme Court, they sat on their hands and did nothing. They are just as much to blame for H1B as the RATS.

She’s rather a moonbat, but killing H1B visas? Yup, I can get behind that one.

The H1-B program exposes a characteristic of STEM fields that is generally a good one but becomes a fundamental flaw in the context of economic and financial impacts on individuals. Basically, what makes STEM fields work is their high degree of standardization, which is great for reducing costs through economies of scale and scope but inevitably results in a “race to the bottom” for many professions as national borders become less relevant.

End it. That BS cost me tens if not hundreds of thousands in lost hwages from the late 90’s on. I was making $180K in 1996 and it kept going down over the years. I retired at $160K in 2020. I should have been making $250 by then, but all the Krishnas and Sandeeps I worked alongside drove down the salaries.

We don’t need them. Give our kids a reason to pursue something other than gender studies in college.

The H1B program was a good idea when instituted. It was intended to allow exceptional brain power from non-USA sources to enhance USA technology. It was intended to be temporary.

However as is with many FedGov programs (welfare, ZeroCare, etc) It was not well thought out and not monitored well which invites abuse. It is past time to end such programs. Current contracts should not be renewed and these ‘guests’ sent home. Let them use their knowledge to improve their homeland.

I think a $100,000 processing fee for a two year duration of H1B visa is reasonable.

That may not be the right amount. It may be $200,000.

Amen, I’m with you 100%. The H1B visa is counterproductive to the stated goal. It’s more inline with the unstated goal, cheap foreign labor.

I wish somebody would identify one H-1B visa holder that has such important skills that we need him here in America.

There probably are no such persons. That is a noble-sounding deception to hide the intent of the program.

The H1-B program was designed to lower American wages in selected trades and professions, by importing large numbers of indentured servants from third-world countries. It has been very successful at its' true purpose.
