Can’t speak for others, but I did see DeSantis as a threat to Trump. But then DeSantis joined the Uniparty regarding Ukraine (after first siding with Trump), and so now as people get to know DeSantis, we see him dropping into the pack that’s trying to split up the 25% of the GOP vote that is NOT supporting Trump.
Trump is the only non politician running. There is no other option.

My take is different.
The Republican wing of the Uniparty is trying to fill up the debate stage with tomato cans.
Tomato can is a boxing term used to identify those who are non-competitive opponents.
I would advise Trump not to debate anyone on any stage provided by any broadcast network or any of the three so-called cable news networks.
Filling the debate stage with tomato cans has its advantages for the Uniparty.
Trump would win a one on one debate with Ron even if the moderator is in the tank for the Uniparty.
But more candidates means less time for both Trump and Ron which is probably good for Ron because expect him to be programmed much like Little Marco was programmed in the New Hampshire primary when Krispy Kreme Christy sent him into the blue screen of death and effectively ended his candidacy.
The Uniparty doesn’t believe in free and fair elections.
They want to stage show elections as they tried to do when they thought they had it in the bag with getting Jeb the nomination.
Filling up the stage with tomato cans is just for show.

More or less correct analysis - the attention to President Trump is not divided. The attention all of his opponents is.
Agree and he’s done more good in one term than any other president has it’s what the D.C. elites fear the most it takes a chunk out of their kickback scams.
MAGA isn’t on their agenda self profit and long term jobs are.
I’ll say it again, if only DeSantis had waited until 2028 he would have been a shoo in. He’s blowing his future presidential aspirations by running now.
