The birth of the party happened in Ripon, Wisconsin, on this day in 1854.
The new party was formed by former members of the Whig Party to oppose the spread of slavery into the western territories.
In my case, I became a de facto Republican after the Kennedy administration fumbled The Bay of Pigs invasion.

For fifty years I marched in their stooge brigades. Trump’s greatest accomplishment would have been to walk away and take the real America First conservatives with him.

The GOP did no favors for Donald Trump. He did them a favor by running for President as a Republican. The GOP is nothing without Donald Trump. The only thing they wanted him for, was the money he brought into the party. After they stabbed him in the back, he had to have his lawyers contact the RNC, the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the National Republican Congressional committee, to tell them to stop using his likeness and his name for fundraising. I hope if he does run again, that he will do so as an Independent, and maybe we can finally get rid of the GOP, and establish a truly Conservative party, and not a party that only knows you when they want something from you.
After January 6th, I changed my party affiliation to "no party," and I'm proud of it.

The GOP vanished many years ago- replaced by the Uniparty Rinos who pretend to be GOP- They should adopt a new moniker ie TDS UR (Trump Derangement Syndrome Uniparty Rinos)
