Trump accuses McConnell of 'folding' on debt ceiling

Former President Trump accused Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (D-Ky.) on Wednesday of “folding” in his standoff with Democrats over the debt limit, shortly after the senator proposed a plan to delay a potential default.

“Looks like Mitch McConnell is folding to the Democrats, again,” Trump said in a statement on Wednesday afternoon. “He’s got all of the cards with the debt ceiling, it’s time to play the hand. Don’t let them destroy our country!”

Trump's statement came just hours after McConnell offered Democrats a deal on temporarily resolving the impasse, as the country is estimated to have just weeks before it defaults on the national debt — a scenario that Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has said would spark an economic crisis and make the U.S. "a permanently weaker nation."

Notice the typo in the Hill article? Refers to McConnell as (D). Is that is a Freudian slip, or closer to truth?

This is one of the times I have to fuss at Trump. Let’s be honest. Even before the china virus, Trump was as bad at rampant spending as a Dim.

I disagree with Trump. This is how it’s done: this is the pre-fold. The real fold will happen in December when the GOP agrees to a massive increase in return for the rats not voting to abolish the limit entirely. It’s always a two-step fold. It’s easier than getting out there and making g your case to the people

folding is what the RINOs do. They put up a little act to try to get us to think they’re fighting but in the end, and right with the plan, they fold.

We have had a one party system for a long time and it shows.

There is no default if the Debt Limit isn’t raised.

Servicing the Debt is the first priority when Tax Revenue is received, followed by SS, Medicare, Pensions and other payments.

The Propaganda marches on.

I was talking about the Republican leadership. And you’ll find no greater Trump admirer than me but, since you brought it up, you’re incorrect. He folded on one of those massive spending bills that nobody reads, vowed never to do it again, then did it again. Financial prudence was not his strong suite

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (D-Ky.)

That's wrong but it may as well be correct.

Never forget CIA stooge Gina Haspel after the entire world knew the election was stolen visiting Mitch McConnell on Capitol Hill.

There are no fiscal conservatives in office and there never will be. Voters want money flowing in their districts. They are under the delusion it is free money.

Correct. ... I think the debt service is $44B a month now and the incoming is $320B a month. That’s only about 14% of revenue, monthly.

If the Socialists want to spend more for “feel good” crap, they can agree to eliminating things like the EPA, Educ., BLM (land mgt.) and other highly paid bureaucratic/useless entities. OH... Add Energy to that list.
