Now that the recall effort to remove Gavin Newsom as governor is over, Iâve had time to reflect on where I think the state is headed after this. Is it time to give up on California?
California did what the majority does every election and votes Democrat. This is not to discredit the huge effort to get over 2 million signatures to make the recall happen.

I gave up on California a long long time ago.
California,
Let Me count the Ways!
“California did what the majority does every election and votes Democrat.”
The demonrats did what they do every election and stole it.
They are a minority ruling as though they were a majority.
Proposed 28th Amendment: a process to remove individual states from the Union.
38 state legislatures willing to toss Cacalifornia out shouldn’t be that hard.
this^
Quitter attitude; cowardly;
Even those millions of completely low-info people who vote Democrat every election because "Our family has ALWAYS voted Democrat!" have to be feeling more than a little um, unsettled by what's going on.
“The head-shaking Arizona election audit is making results everywhere look a little questionable.”
A lot of us knew on the day following the 2016 election that this was going to happen.
Some of us spent four years saying that Trump needed to do something to prevent this. As far as I can tell, he did nothing.
I’m not giving up. I live here in CA and will continue to fight for freedom and refuse to cede this beautiful land to the left and flee. Why should they get it all?
There is a huge reason conservatives can’t take it back, and that is 27% of California’s population is foreign born. I.e. they’re all from socialist countries and they’re voting for socialism. And in many ways, you can thank Reagan for this.
I guess you could call us in California, the Rodney Dangerfield’s of the 50 states.
We don’t get no respect! //
I understand the anger though. Too many of our politicians try to run non-Californian citizens lives.
*I’m stuck here for the duration.
May as well make the most of it.
You can give up on any State where voter fraud was rampant.
I wonder how many non citizens vote in California....or everywhere for that matter.
My last kid is moving out of state next month. Think about that, a kid who grew up in the most beautiful state with the best climate, is leaving for quality of life reasons. We will be following him shortly.
California is going to be used to flood the country with liberals and turn every state blue. It needs to be fought for anyway, if only to prevent that.
This isn’t the time to be criticizing Trump. He did what he could while taking crap from the Democrats, the cowardly Republicans, the media, and even NATO allies he simply wanted to pay their fair share.
You say, “Some of us spent four years saying that Trump needed to do something to prevent this.”
Well, President Trump actually spent four years dealing with more incoming from every angle than you could imagine.
So sorry you were disappointed. Here’s a Kleenex.
well either the election was rigged or we just didn’t do the job.
Republicans are 24% of registered voters says KTLA-5. We had to pull in indies and dems. We got some, it will probably be the usual 60/40, but it wasn’t enough. Our party ate this with a lousy 55% turnout, too. Placer Co (north) was down from 78% to 55%. Orange county (south) hovered around 50% turnout, (turnout being mail-in votes and in person votes) the same as (central valley) Kern and Madera Counties
