Dems Reportedly Considering ‘Total War’ If GOP Fills Supreme Court Seat, Including Possible New States

Democrats are reportedly gearing up for “total war” and plan to implement radical changes to the legislative and judiciary branches of the government if the GOP-led Senate confirms a new Supreme Court (SCOTUS) justice before the Nov. 3 election then lose the majority after the election, Axios reported Sunday.

The Democrats’ options include ending the Senate filibuster rule — which requires a 60-vote supermajority to end debate and move to a vote instead of a simple majority — expanding the number of Supreme Court justices, granting statehood to the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, and even undertaking a second impeachment effort against the President if he tries to fill the seat vacated by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Another thought on them expanding SCOTUS:

Do you think they could get by with passing a law expanding SCOTUS, which at the same time prohibits any future changes to its size?

Then if the GOP someday miraculously retakes the Senate & passes another SCOTUS expansion, the Dems sue, and the lawsuit must be decided by .... guess who?

I do see that it grants the number of electors equal to that of the smallest State...

Which is 3. Four or five states only have one Representative. Now if Congress were to increase the size of the House of Representatives, that number could increase. But they’d have to increase the size a lot.

I believe that the retrocession of D.C. territory to Virginia in 1847 sort of takes Virginia out of that particular conversation.

If I were republicans, I would run ads non-stop in Puerto Rico, pointing out that the Democrats are willing to throw their statehood under the bus just to hold off a supreme court nomination.

Ever read the Constitution?

Here’s a hint - start with Article IV, Section 3.

Recall there was some ummm, “unpleasantness” going on at the time, and the legislature of Virginia was deemed irrelevant.

There is plenty of unpleasantness going on in Washington, Oregon, California, Illinois, Minneapolis, and Pennsylvania.

No, she was not a practicing Jew. Seems to have spent most Jewish holidays on ordinary vacations (including her family with the Scalia family). But she never claimed to be an atheist that I’ve ever seen.

She was far too self-intoxicated to have a traditional modest Jewish funeral.

Ask Goebbels how asking for “Totaller Krieg” worked out for him.

Then shift a dozen EC votes divide Kalifornia into Sur-del-Cali and Jefferson in the northern half. Bella Pelosi would be sitting on the floor in the corner whimpering.

...even undertaking a second impeachment effort against the President if he tries to fill the seat...

They should put up or shut up. They absolutely should begin impeachment proceedings against the President. Especially since it worked out so well for them last time.

The negative impact on them would be:

1) The impeachment proceedings will take time away from their ability to campaign.

2) It further shines a light on their pettiness and vindictiveness at a time when parts of the U.S. are literally burning.

3) It will make for great advertising material for the Dem's opponents in elections.

They’ll do that anyway. In fact this is nothing new. They were making these threats before Ginsburg died.

RE: The delay burying Ruth Bader Ginsberg. (past sundown of the first day)

Forget Jewish traditions for Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She may have been Jewish by ancestry but she was a Satanist.

New States? Great—We could have East and West California. East being Red. Nevada, North and South, Illinois, North and South, New York, East and west. Etc... Maybe get to 57 states after all? Why not add American Samoa, Virgin Islands, Midway Islands!
