Most Americans remain confident about the U.S. economy and in their own financial situation, and more now give President Trump's policies credit for a strong economy than did so last year.
Seven in 10 Americans say the economy is in good shape, including a quarter who say it is very good. Nearly all Republicans and most Democrats and independents share this view.

The average American is smarter than mass media.
Poor CBS, they must have had a coronary having to release this poll
But the liberals said this economic expansion started when Obama was still president, thus is because of his policies.
And what about Twitter and Stormy Daniels and Russia and all the rest? I thought Trump was a disaster as president?
Its probably true that the economic recovery started under Obama, but that fact alone is incredibly misleading. After the 2007 economic crisis, the economy eventually showed periodic signs of recovery, a natural recovery that always happens eventually due to the business cycle. However, I recall that every time the indicators started to point upward, Obama would come along with an executive order or other policy prescription that served to beat the economy back into submission.
It was like clockwork. Some economic indicator would start to improve, and there was Obama to enact some new attack on the energy industry, or some other leftist inanity, and down it went again. Regardless, even with Obama on its back trying to strangle it, the economy did bump along for several years with steady, but pathetically anemic growth. Thats how the dems are able to claim that the upward trend in some indicators started under Obama. What they dont tell you is that during his term, the economy was trying to recover DESPITE Obamas efforts, not because of them.
But, theres upward and then theres UPWARD. The libs only talk about the trend, but not the magnitude. If you look at the trends lines for various economic indicators, pre-Trump they were moving upward, but at a barely perceptible rate. After the 2016 election, though, those trend lines deflected sharply upward. Just look at the 5-year plot of the Dow Jones average, as one example, and you will see Obamas recovery plodding along looking nearly flat, and then there is this clear inflection point at Election Day where it goes stratospheric. The difference is so clear that you dont even need a time scale on the bottom of the chart to tell when the election occurred; its dead obvious from the behavior of the market.
The Obama economy was like a flickering candle that somehow managed to continue flickering despite Obamas constant attempts to pee on it, while the Trump economy was more like Trump sweeping the idiot aside and pouring rocket fuel on the desperate flame, which immediately burst into a raging inferno. Both technically achieved fire, I guess you could say (one against his wishes), but the results are in no way comparable.
The best response to the lib claim that Obama is responsible for the current economy is to ask them what policy Obama implemented that caused the economic expansion. They cant cite any because to the extent that he implemented economic policies, they were all designed to constrain the economy, not to expand it. He was trying to kill America, and fortunately America was just resistant enough to his efforts to survive until Trump came along to set things right.
I heard Cavuto this afternoon say poll respondents were not giving Trump credit for the economy (I think he may have been relying on Quinipiac for that.). He will not be happy to hear of this new poll.
This is going to drive the MSM-Democrats into an absolute fury. They’re going to look like the old “Big Daddy” Ed Roth “Rat Fink” pictures.

Was the CBS reporter sobbing while they spoke of this?
I favor CBS over the other Alphabets, Comcast and Disney.
CBS is pretty much a stand-alone news operation.
