Lynette Villano’s grandson doesn’t speak to her because of it, but she’s still one of the president’s most die-hard supporters. Are there enough Lynettes for Trump to win in 2020?
The day after the 2016 election, Lynette Villano, a 72-year-old widow and clerk for the Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, sent her grandson Connor Mulvey a text message:
“I guess you can probably figure out that I’m very happy today,” Lynnette began. “Donald Trump is to your generation what Ronald Reagan was to ours. I am so fortunate to have been part of both. … He defied conventional wisdom at every turn. … Hopefully, I will be going to the Inauguration.”
Connor, who was then starting his senior year as an undergraduate at Tulane, replied almost immediately.
“Donald Trump is a bigoted imbecile who tapped into the racism and ignorance in America,” he texted. “You’re right, he is like Ronald Reagan. He’s going to leave this country in ruins and completely ignore minorities’ problems. The fact that he ‘won’ this election is a blemish on the history of the United States. I will not be recognizing him as my President, because much like George W. Bush he failed to win the popular vote. The only difference is that I believe Bush was a good person who was manipulated by those around him. Donald is an arrogant asshole with a history of abuse, mistreatment, and greed. He and his supporters should be ashamed of themselves, but it’s evident they lack the self-reflective capabilities to do so. I want you to think long and hard about what you’ve aided in. My LGBT friends are scared. My Muslim friends are scared....

I thought the comments were more an indication that people are rejecting the lunatics like this boy.
The young man just evidences the liberal ideologies that have flooded our Educational Systems......Grannie is right to say he has yet to have ‘experience’ in the world. Right now he’s just a ‘clone’ of liberal indoctrination and brain-washing.

How interesting....I’ve been a similar situation, altho my grandson thought the money his great, great, great Uncle left him ($10,000) in MY care, should be JUST given to him - not a Note.
I made sure he understood, WE would decide when and for what he got the money. We paid for his community college education...told him we’d help him start a business if he wanted (he hasn’t) ...and told him until he decided just WHAT he would major in at a 4 year college we would NOT pay for any more education. (Knowing the propaganda places they are.) And, I’ve sent him more than one Free Republic article (with comments) explaining the folly of a “college education” for someone not pursing something specific.
He’s now working in construction, in a supervisory position , getting great experience. And, there’s still money left in his $10K account. He and his step sister hate Trump, although I’m betting the last few months have made them “think” a bit....we shall see.
I was raised to not send disrespectful crap like that to my grandmothers.

Even if I disagreed with my grandmother I would never have spoken to her like that. At least he kept the bad language, so prevalent in this generation no matter who they are talking to, down. Have a little respect sonny and you might learn a thing or two from someone who has been around enough to see the to-ings and fro-ings of politics and life. Ungrateful little brat!
Mrs. Vilano should tell her nephew to drop dead because he is an arrogant, ignorant, financial leech of a pig. She should demand back any financial aid she gave him for college because he hasn’t learned anything useful or truthful and he lied about getting a real education.
Also, his group of snowflakes may be “scared” of Trump and the future, but in his case, anything she would have left him in her will has now become “scarce” and will not be available, ever, to him.
As for her daughter, well, she’s a pig too and not really worth talking too because she’ll never grow up either.
As for the author Ben Bradlee Jr, he’s such a putz that he doesn’t realize that Mrs. Vilano cut his liberal balls off by providing him with the view of Donald Trump that the “heartland of America” has and which helped him get elected.
Just look at the ridicule Bradlee spews on Trump inbetween getting his intellectual clock cleaned by a real working woman from Wilkes-Barre.
Oh, and his old man, the head of the Wash. Post, was a nasty son-of-a-bitch too. Nothing like Katherine Graham who conducted herself like a lady.

Tulane should be renamed - to Tuliberal (Too liberal)...
