One of the country's most popular Republican governors on Thursday called for an independent investigation into the allegations made against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and said the Senate should hold off on a vote.
Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker made the comments as Professor Christine Blasey Ford testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that Kavanaugh sexually and physically assaulted here.
"The accusations brought against Judge Kavanaugh are sickening and deserve an independent investigation," Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker tweeted. "There should be no vote in the Senate."
Baker, who faces re-election this November, is one of only a few Republican governors, all political moderates, to express dissatisfaction with the committee's handling of the allegations made against Kavanaugh. In July, Baker was one of three Republican governors, along with Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan and Vermont Gov. Phil Scott, to not sign a letter to Senate leaders offering support for Kavanaugh's nomination.
In an interview with the Burlington Free Press, Vermont's Republican governor encouraged senators to conduct a full investigation and "take your time."(continued)

I remember when Governor Palin was the GOP’s most popular Governor and of course CNN wouldn’t have ever used such a headline for her opinion even prior to McCain.
Talk about a weak sister. Why a prissy thing for a man to say.

By the way, back when Gov. Baker was in college he used to hit little kittens with a wiffle ball bat. And he did it just for fun! I know this for a fact because a friend of mine heard someone talking about it on a bus.
I therefore call on Gov. Baker to resign.
Baker is a turncoat, traitorous RINO. Fie on him and his opinions...nothing but a Massachusetts liberal in disguise as a conservative. He’s about as conservative and trustworthy as was Ted Kennedy.

GOP Governor of a Liberal state playing to his home state constituents hoping they will not throw him out in the next election.
Why is it that the accuser is always credible to the likes of that governor? Are they that stupid that they do not see the agenda in this whole affair.
Grassley should have made the hearing a closed hearing. Senate hearings televised are nothing more or less than Soviet style show trials designed for political grandstanding BECAUSE the politicians know the cameras are on them and they want to play to peoples’ emotions, not any real facts.
