Democrats have a new theory for how they can win back Congress and the White House. Just like "soccer moms" helped put Bill Clinton in the Oval Office in 1996, and "NASCAR dads" helped George W. Bush win in 2004, Donald Trump, the theory goes, was elected because of "#NeverHillary" voters who didn't particularly like him but despised her. Axios reports that Democrats are targeting the "20% of Trump's voters [who] told exit pollsters they didn't like him" hoping these reluctant Trump voters will help power a "blue wave" in the 2018 midterms and defeat President Trump in 2020.
One problem with that theory: The left's nonstop, over-the-top attacks on Trump are not peeling those voters away from him; they are pushing them further into the president's camp.
In recent weeks, Trump derangement syndrome on the left has reached critical mass.
First, there was Robert De Niro's "f -- Trump" tirade at the Tony awards, followed by Samantha Bee's calling Ivanka Trump a "feckless c -- " on her TV show.
Then the owners of the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Va. threw out White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders because she works for the president, while chanting protesters heckled Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen at a Mexican restaurant.
Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., added fuel to the fire by openly calling on mobs of left-wing activists to "absolutely harass" Trump officials....

It's not without merit...however, Trump has proven what he is going to do, and the Democrats completely lost their minds like hysterical tweens and still haven't shown signs of regaining them - or even looking for them.
Hidden in this tripe are attacks on Trump, where nothing new or vicious is tossed at the Democrats.

Yes. That was the most important thing in my mind at the time.
There was not then and is not now a litmus test; i.e. "how true Red are you"? There were tens of thousands who weren't so sure about Trump during the election, but they held their nose and voted against Hillary. We had every right to be skeptical of some of his claims because we the voters have been lied to with regularity.
With his superb efforts in the first 18 months of his tenure Our President has proven his worth to America and those folks who might have been a little shaky at the time are true supporters. He will be re-elected overwhelmingly in 2020 and quite deservedly based on his accomplishments. There is no cult or hero worship from me, but Trump has performed largely as promised and he deserves our respect for that rare occurrence.
It is unlikely the Democrats could draw off enough voters who had concerns about Trump to make a difference, and too late to start. Trump's support may not be 87%, but it is high enough to show he has been winning over voters who had doubts. This group of voters is likely one of the hardest groups for the Democrats to break into, since their momentum is toward Trump.
If this really was part of their midterm plan, they should have started it over a year ago. Right now, they have bigger problems. Including keeping Hillary's ego from putting her back on the ballot.

I don’t think the Democrats are sweating this coming election so much. They are trying to gin up an old time putsch. If they can do that then the mid-terms don’t matter.

Voting against someone whose “bad ideas” you despise, makes more sense then voting for someone only because of the high melatonin content of their skin.

I doubt the Democrat’s “Putsch” will be any more successful (if that is indeed what they are thinking).
Personally I think the “hate trump” is more to keep him from doing anything substantial. Surprisingly their old tactics are not working against President Trump. They don’t seem to have a plan B
