I see significant flaws in this strategy. Right now, that there are obviously more disgruntled Democrats than Republicans is chief among them. Democrats are driving voters away, when their own voters aren't happy with them either. Except in Iran or Venezuela, this is not how to win elections.

It is unlikely the Democrats could draw off enough voters who had concerns about Trump to make a difference, and too late to start. Trump's support may not be 87%, but it is high enough to show he has been winning over voters who had doubts. This group of voters is likely one of the hardest groups for the Democrats to break into, since their momentum is toward Trump.

If this really was part of their midterm plan, they should have started it over a year ago. Right now, they have bigger problems. Including keeping Hillary's ego from putting her back on the ballot.

It isn’t just “Hate Trump” that’s turning people off, it’s “Hate Trump Voters”, in which outright violence toward people who don’t vote the right way is actively encouraged by media who then turn around and blame the victims.
